Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 04, 2009 9:12 pm Well, After a fair bit of reading I decided I would post My partner and I have decided to purchase a 390sq block at Spring Farm and Build a Saville 16 (+ 2sq promo) with Eden Brae. So far so good, we had the tender presentation last week and have booked in for our contract appointment on the 27th April. There will only be the two of us in the house so lots of room for the two of us. The Mrs will no doubt pick the colours so lots of fun times left in the building process! Questions: 1. When submitting a landscaping plan, does this need to be "official" or can I just knock something up in Photo Shop? 2. I've been quoted $120 for a data points... Yet telephone points are $50 what's the go there?! I've heard Eden Brae aren't very flexible with prices so I don't like my chances of getting this cheaper. 3. Anything I should look out for in particular for people that have already gone through a similar process? Thanks and Exiting times ahead! EDIT: I know have a blog!! http://house.gildeanet.com/ Interesting... A work friend of mine is also planning on building with Wisdom homes in Spring Farm pending finance. We have purchased in Stage 3, and are desperately waiting for the land to be registered As stated, hopefully the landscaping plan doesn't have to be anything dramatic. I think I'll shoot camden council an e-mail asking them what the requirements are for the landscaping plan. sanjeeva Hi We are also building at Spring Farm with Cosmopolitan. Good news! We didn't mind one of the Cosmo layouts, however the strange diagonal wall in the middle and lack of Alfresco turned us away What stage did you purchase? Interesting... We have been told that it will happen in June or even in May. Re: Building at Spring Farm with Eden Brae 6Apr 06, 2009 9:21 pm When we looked at land at spring farm no one was looking at land it was so quite. BUT now wow so many people looking at land and the show homes and i can see that stage 3 and 4 are selling quite fast. When we looked they were not really marketing towards 1st home buyers but you can see in stage 3 and 4 that has changed greatly. Hoping it ends up a nice place to live with the bush and walk ways www.buildingwithwisdomhomes.blogspot.com Re: Building at Spring Farm with Eden Brae 7Apr 07, 2009 9:37 pm sanjeeva Hi Gildea We also purchased in Stage 3 and waiting for land to be registered. We deposited on a lot in Dianella Views on Saturday and will be going in to do the tender with Wisdom on Easter Monday (Put in our app for a home loan through out broker with CBA nearly 3 weeks ago and still waiting to get our conditional approval changed to a unconditional approval..grrrr). Have any of you that are building with wisdom signed a building contract yet? if so how long did it take from the tender process to the siging of the contract? June 30th is fast approaching and id hate to miss out on the FHOG. Re: Building at Spring Farm with Eden Brae 10Apr 09, 2009 12:43 pm Hi Gildea, We are building out at Spring Farm as well. We seem to be a bit further along than most of you though. We have a block in Stage 2. Its already registered and we have settled on the block, and we are currently waiting on the builders to get the plans approved. (We have just found out that they have stuffed up the 149 certificate that they need to send to council saying that they are going through a private certifier, and are now being told that they plans should be approved early next week - was meant to happen on the 3rd April! ) Anyway, they will hopefully be on site next week or the week after to get the block excavated and the underground piping all in... Good luck to everyone else with the building process. You will need a lot of patience! Building Our First Home! PCI Date - 28/08/09!!!!! HANDOVER - 4th SEPTEMBER!!!!!! I'm pretty sure there not open on weekends /quote] Hi, I spoke to council today and they have not received plans as the road is not 100% completed. Once they receive the plans from the developer they then take 3-4 days in coucnil then onto the titles office. They said that stage 3 is looking at getting pushed quicker as they are keen for the development to start and their money. I spoke to Colin and Springfarm and he is saying the same thing, they are looking at May/June. Sent an email to Camden Council about landscaping requirements and waiting to hear back. So far they have been excellent and the best council to deal with. Also for those that have been told by builders that they need a Saline Slab, you go back and tell your builder Springfarm do not require it and i have it in writting from the council. So far over 3 weeks I've sent 5 e-mails, and been given a response to 1 *sigh* (And it wasn't the first one, was the third E-Mail... and considereding I referenced the first and second e-mails in the 3rd, they still seemed to have ignored it. Hopefully not a sign of things to come) They better pick up there game. Interesting...
