Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 01, 2009 5:46 pm I am building a Santorini26 (M3tricon) in Mernda Villages. My lot happens to be on the corner and I have to do something in the corner treatment. My builder has suggested me to have a pergola built on the corner. Are there any other ideas for the corner treatment (other than pergola). Has anyone been building or has built Santorini from M3tricon? Regards, abdul Re: Corner Treatment Ideas 2Apr 01, 2009 6:39 pm There are lots of options, but it depends on the facade. Some double storey homes with balconies at the front have a false balcony added to the side. I've seen pergolas on both single and double storeys, and they can look really good if they're done well. If the facade has a gable, parapet wall, or some other distinctive feature, that might be able to be repeated in the side elevation. There's a single storey home near us that has feature columns on both the front and side elevations - they've used stack stone, but you could do something similar with a rendered finish. Have a drive around the Stockland estates and see what other people have done on corner blocks - you're sure to pick up some ideas.
