Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 30, 2009 9:41 pm Hi everyone We,ve been in now for 3 weeks! It just seems so unreal after waiting for so long We haven,t found too many faults with the house so far, which is great, the only major problem is our ensuite shower. It hasn,t been tiled correctly and therefore the water doesn,t run toward the drain It will have to be fixed as it,s upstairs and we don,t want the water maybe leaking into the floor somehow.... Anyway hopefully that will be fixed soon. We,ve been doing heaps of landscaping in the last couple of weeks.....our driveway, paths and patio area were done a couple of weeks ago and on Saturday we laid our lawn, about 200 sq mtrs of it Here are a few pics..... Looks really good you have achieved a lot in three weeks - is your driveway stamped concrete? are you happy with the finish? Well done with lawn - hows your back? Re: Our new house at Mt Compass, SA 3Mar 31, 2009 6:36 am that looks good! i like your edging is it pavers laid side by side - are they cemented in? love your bricks too! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our new house at Mt Compass, SA 4Mar 31, 2009 6:50 pm Hi Bluesteel and Kyiee, thanks for your lovely comments Yes,the driveway is stamped concrete and we love it....the guys did a great job. It,s looking a bit dirty at the moment....I need to give it a wash now that the lawn is laid. The lawn was pretty easy to lay....DH and DS did most of the heavy work carting it up the driveway in wheelbarrows I think we had it all done in about 3 1/2 hours Kyiee....the edging is our leftover bricks....we had about 2,500 leftover and our SS said that we could have them as they would only throw them away! We're about to start building in the Adelaide Hills and will eventually be looking for a similar finish. Thanks, Jim Re: Our new house at Mt Compass, SA 6Apr 01, 2009 11:37 am Well done Melanie, the house and gardens look great and your in a lovely spot. We're considering stamped concrete as well and along with Jim and Adel would be interested to know if your contractor services the adel hills region. Jim and Adel - I think Mel's contractor was Paul Bushell Concrete based at Onkaparinga. Cheers, Shane Re: Our new house at Mt Compass, SA 7Apr 01, 2009 9:16 pm Hi Jim,Adel and Shane Yes our contractor was Paul Bushell,I,m not sure what areas he does, but he did a great job and if you want me to pm you his number let me know Cheers Mel Building on 9 acres of course there are legal avenues.
