Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 30, 2009 3:01 am I am yet to sign up with the builder. I am saying that as part of my contract I want him to deliver the engineers plans in DWG format (That is AutoCAD native). The history is that I have done the design with my own architect. I am proposing giving the architect plans in DWG format to him to help in the whole deign process, but he is telling me that the engineer has "Copyright" over his designs. He is offering scaled down PDF versions. Copyright means that if I want more than one copy I will have to pay for each print. If I get scaled down PDF's the quality will be pretty poor. Ie A0 or A1 to A3 reduction is not very clear. I have offered to provide a letter saying that I will not release teh DWG to anyone other than in relation to my own house, say if at some point in the future I need to do some work, an extension say. So what has been the experience of others on the forum? What drawings if any are provided with the house. Thanks in anticipation. I haven't asked for the the DWG fuiles, but I'm sure he would have no problem giving them to me. After all , he did ask for the same from the architect to get the strucutral engineering started. Then use a pdf to dwg converter.... Works a treat! Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Re: Getting plans as part of the delivery of your house 5Mar 31, 2009 7:27 am Just do a google search.. There are plenty of programs out there that will do the conversion... The one I use currently is Aide PDF to DXF Converter... Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6894 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil.
