If you've got the space i'd suggest keeping it at least 1000mm Re: Yet another plan for your comments, please! 22Apr 01, 2009 10:25 pm I like this but the one thing I thought of was it would be nice to arrive at the top of the stairs facing the view, rather than a wall, but I reckon a nice big mirror could take care of that. I think the bedroom is much better, I too felt it was too big before. The kitchen is great. Love the idea of the stairs. The only thing I'm not loving is the family room. I liked it better when it was right along the back. Oh, just noticed Bed 3, sorry, but I hate a toilet door facing a bedroom door. I'd put the toilet into the main bathroom, and bring the laundry back to where it was. Re: Yet another plan for your comments, please! 23Apr 01, 2009 11:12 pm Howdy! This forum is definitely addictive! Hi Andronicus! Thanks for your advice! I've allowed 1000mm width & 4000mm length for the staircase. For the central hallway I've allowed 1200mm so I can steal some of this for the stairs if necessary. I was wondering whether the upper level void needs to run the entire length of the stairs or can I shorten it to 3000mm? Will be doing some sleuthing on the forum to find out I think! Hi Rachelle! Re family room: I'm still undecided between the lower floor plans. There are pros & cons with both. Thanks for picking up on the wc door placement, I'm not keen on that either! Maybe I could delete this door & put in a sliding door between the bathroom & toilet. Decisions, decisions! Re stairs: I was hoping to locate the top of the stairs towards the view but we can't have the entry to the stairs near the entry unless we go with u shape or foldback stairs. We have spiral stairs at the moment... something we will definitely be avoiding! Cheers! Mrs Frizzy.
