Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 27, 2009 9:32 pm We are getting closer to our hopetoun appointment and have started seriously looking at our selection. Our roof tiles are with csr monier and we are tossing up between 2 colours - sambuca and barramundi. One of them, can't remember off the top of my head but i think it's sambuca is very dark, almost black. Just wondering for those who have used it or selected it, does it look that dark on the roof? Or anyone who has gone with barramundi what do you think of it? I would attach pics but like everything else, it looks completely different in real life lol Thanks everyone Re: Advice on roof tiles 2Mar 27, 2009 9:37 pm Hi I have gone with the Barramundi coloured tile with Pearl grey bricks which are a light colour, do not have any pics though as construction has not as yet started Re: Advice on roof tiles 3Mar 27, 2009 9:53 pm hey georgie, check out a building thread by "seakyl" and one by "jellylegs". Both have used the monier elabana, but seakyl has used the sambuca while jellylegs has used barramundi...i will be choosing between these 2 colours aswell, both look great it just depends whether you want a dark blue or a bluey black look...good luck, let us know what you end up choosing! 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Advice on roof tiles 6Mar 28, 2009 12:31 pm Yep, we have Monier Barramundi with PGH Rattan bricks. The bricks are a light brown with a creamy glaze on top - not sure if they're similar to the ones you have in mind. We're really pleased with the colour of the tiles. I think they'd look great with a grey tone brick. We've also used Ironstone and Dune for our gutter and fascia which would go nicely with grey bricks too. http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/JellyLegs01/101_0022.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/JellyLegs01/101_0021.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/JellyLegs01/100_0046.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/JellyLegs01/100_0067.jpg Do you have solar on the roof, because if its not a laying defect it looks almost like someone has been walking all over the roof in the mid section of the tile (weakest… 2 1907 Minimum overhang into gutter must be 50mm, turn down tool should not split the sheet. it seems wrong tool for the profile was used, the flashing cannot slope back.
