We have bought a block of land in Doreen and are in the process with Henley to build the Panorama. It's all very exciting at this stage, land doesnt settle until August, and my grand plan was to be in the house by March 2010. After reading some other blogs... I think that may be pushing it! Anyway, if you're interested, we have set up a blog http://aaronerinpanorama.blogspot.com/ feel free to check it out, and forward us any advise you may have! Cheers E&A Re: Where are the people building with HENLEY 11Apr 06, 2009 4:22 pm Welcome Aaron4erin. I liked the panaroma! You could host a party in the entry its so huge. Re: Where are the people building with HENLEY 13Apr 06, 2009 5:18 pm Hi - we're building with H3nley too in western suburbs of Melbourne and have just finished frame stage. It hasn't been the smoothest ride, but so far we are happy with the progress. Daring2build - I'm interested in that other site you came across yesterday however the link didn't work?? Building our dream home - H3nley Ascot 384 Painting done - electrical, alarm and tiling being completed!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17939 Re: Where are the people building with HENLEY 14Apr 06, 2009 8:21 pm DARING2Build Macca, replace the *** in the address bar with 'product reveiw dot com dot au' with no spaces, and you will find the info. Don't forget, people LOVE to tell their horror stories, over positive ones, and it happens with every builder. My advice, don't let them pull the wool over your eyes, keep the lines of communication open on a weekly basis, keep lists, emails and records of phone calls, and in the construction phase hire an independant inspector if you are not satisfied. Be knowledgable too, and this is the best place to gather your knowledge! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! Ari - ours ended up getitng cancelled on Friday due to power outage because of the weather and because they had no aircon to move air around they had to evacuate apparently. But spoke to our CSC this morning and contract is booked for 5pm tomorrow! 2nd build here we come in Whittlesea! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=92617 1st Build - Henley - Cooper in Doreen! Re: Where are the people building with HENLEY 17Apr 07, 2009 10:15 am We are building the Trinity with Henley in Point Cook. We don't get title until (approx.) August. We have been told we can do our colour appointment, prepare contracts etc. before then and just have to do tender and soil test once we get title and start building asap. We hope we can start building before the end of the year but are not holding our breath - mianly in case title is delayed. Henley have been great and have not given us anything to worry about yet. I absolutely think that every builder has horror stories on here. People complain more than they praise. And some of the 'problems' people have had are really just their own lack of information biting them in the butt. Find out as much as you can (this forum is GREAT for that), keep in touch as often as need be and keep records of all your conversations/emails/changes/quotes/dates etc. I tend to think that if you are prepared for some delays, some minor mistakes and confusion then the overall process won't seem painful. But if you expect everything to be prefect then you'll be so let down as soon as a tiny thing doesn't go to plan. Building Emperor Q2 with Henley in Featherbrook stage 13, Point Cook. Slab laid - Building has begun! Re: Where are the people building with HENLEY 18Apr 07, 2009 10:44 am We're going along pretty well. Have had no hiccups so far, and we're looking forward to painting starting next week. Communication with our contract admin has been very good. We speak on a weekly to fortnightly basis (I know some people want to email them every day for some sense of security, but really, is there a point to this?) When I want a site visit, I arrange it with my admin, and I go and see my SS. Got a very good SS so we're happy with everything. It does take a little bit of time to set everything up, but this is not unique to any builder, and you will find once you get going it is pretty fast to turn everything around. We're looking to be in the next few months, so very exciting for us Re: Where are the people building with HENLEY 19Apr 07, 2009 11:20 am aaron4erin Hi All, we're new to this forum, but after spending half the morning reading through posts we thought we'd register. Hope it goes as well for you as it has been for us. Like others have said, if you expect it to go smoothly from start to finish, then pack your bags and build it yourself. There will always be some delays for whatever reason, but it's all part of the process. I think we've been extremely lucky with our build and we have had no issues at all. Best thing about Henley is their value for money. Other builders cost an arm and a leg for something they claim to be "better quality" trust me it's garbage, and sensible people will see through that sales pitch. But spoke to Jessica this morning and contract is booked for 5pm tomorrow! Cinny I hope your 2nd contract appointment went well an that you are out celebrating! After not hearing anything yesterday and still no contract in the post we sent an email to our CSC looking for an ETA. Got an autoreply back that she is out of the office for three weeks. I guess we can stop checking the letterbox every day now. Would have been nice if we'd been told that the delay wasn't going to be a couple of days at all. Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond.
