Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 22, 2012 1:42 am We are looking at knock down and building where we currently live. Our biggest concern is our exisiting pool. We definitely have to either remove it or fill it in and build partly over the top of it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Of course the builders we are talking to dont want to give us much info with the pricing until we get soil reports and are close to signing up with them. Im quite concerned this could be a very expensive project. Other option would find a house plan more like L shape so we dont have to build over it but could fill it in. Re: Anyone had to fill in a pool to build over it? 2Aug 22, 2012 7:48 am Hi texter, We are in a similar situation to you,but have decided to keep our pool. This has been possible as we have slightly tweaked standard designs to make them L shaped. Keeping the pool will cost us about 5-8k for extra piering and materials handling.
