Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our home at the observatory - frame stage 10/08 pics 22Aug 11, 2009 8:43 pm No problem Darryl. Where are you looking at building? We had a budget that we took to them and they ended up coming in under the budget which was nice!! Ozz, yeah it would have been nice to have the frame premade, would make it alot quicker i'm sure! Fingers crossed the weather stays great Re: Our home at the observatory - frame stage 10/08 pics 24Aug 13, 2009 11:17 pm Hi trenty, Didn't realise how forthcoming l was with my floorplan posts until l re-read your thread then Would be interested to see how your final floorplan end up looking like Great to see that your build is underway anyway and it's going smoothly Re: Our home at the observatory - frame stage 10/08 pics 25Aug 19, 2009 8:32 pm Ha ha, thanks for the help back then Thorney. It was great to get some feedback and have some people to talk about the plan with The floorplan stayed pretty much the same as it was, just a few tweaks here and there. In the end the other half decided against more cupboard space as she said if we had more cupboard space then we would just buy more stuff to fill them. I think we may regret that in a few years time, oh well :p The build is coming along so fast we kind of can't get up to the block enough to see each part happening. At the moment the roofers (correct term??) are up there putting the roof and the insulation (anticon blanket or something like that) on. The fascia and guttering has been done. SS has told us roof will be done by friday and the sparky is coming in next week. Here are a few pics from last weekend. The retaining wall is now fully finished and ended up costing a little over $11000 but we are really happy with it and are glad we don't have to do it!! We'll have to put some in our backyard and down one side boundary eventually. Haven't given much thought as to how we'll do it, but after seeing yours, l think this will definitely be the way we'll go Looking forward to seeing pics of your roofed house Re: Our home at the observatory - frame stage 19/08 pics 27Aug 23, 2009 8:34 pm we have a roof Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Took them 4 days to put the roof, guttering and anticon blanket on. Re: Our home at the observatory - Windowed, bricked and bagged 34Sep 09, 2009 9:12 am Thorney, The mosaico is a whitish colour, can't really remember exactly what it is like i'll try and upload our colour selections some time so you can see. We can't believe how much it feels more like a house now as well!! The plasterers actually started last friday and got a fair bit done, the silly camera has decided to stop working so no pics yet. We went up on last night and it is all finished with the plastering on the walls and ceiling, just need the cornices now. (I got plastered on the weekend too ) Glad you found the retaining wall pics again!! Rebekah, We love the surfmist roof too, i have moments like in the ads when i find myself staring at it Very happy with the builder so far, they have been so quick. Slab started 4th of august and we are now nearly finished plastering. They are pretty clean too, noticed last night they had swept the whole house out!! Congrats on the site start date, hope everything goes well on the 17th. You guys aren't all that far from us at Gilston. Re: Our home at the observatory - Windowed, bricked and bagged 40Sep 11, 2009 1:20 pm hey thanks jess, great minds think alike Hi at, I have been trying to see what type of door ours is but all it says in the contract is Meranti hinged 2340 x 1200 x 40mm swing door with 8 lite frosted glazing. I think meranti is the type of wood that it is made out of? I looked at our inclusions and the standard front door was a hume xn5 and i think we just made it bigger, but looking at the hume website ours looks similar to the xge8. We paid $1005 for the upgrade. Hope this helps. Will get up to the block and take some pics this afternoon. Hopefully there is heaps of progress!!!! I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15266 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17047 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11632 |
