It is a special spot. Gosh I had to look twice too see what that sink it was- wow it's made out of timber !! First glance i thought it was something that had melted very unique. Nice vegi patch ! is that your block in the last pic ? I adore the forests down that way. Pretty sad hearing about all the whales that beached themselves near Prevelly this week. Are you going to ownerbuild or go with a builder ? Re: onc's new challenge... 3Jun 21, 2009 11:56 am Hey Willow, yes the clearing will take the new house. The veggie garden is part of the Backyard aquaponics system I have. Aquaponics is Veggies in growbeds and fish in tanks, with the water flooding the growbeds from the fish tank. The plants take up the nutrients after Nitrification process. ...and yes I feel privileged to be here, tis a wonderful spot. The worst agricultural soils on the planet sustaining the most diverse flora on the planet on the second windiest coastline on the planet. (those choice Kiwis beat us) No wonder those crazy Mexicans love our native plants That has to say something for our traditional gardening techniques. The Margs area has soil much like, I think it is, India? From when it ripped away. Isn't Augusta down the road the same soil type as Antarctica? Or is that the other way around? Either way, an amazing part of Australia and the world The whales are playing about too Excellent caves too. Used to work with a chap who was a guide in them. This spot could tell some very funny stories, The carpark Scene of impromptu backpacker and camper parties/pissups. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ up the road a way... MArgs to Duns is prettier though. but was too far from Perth for us with aging folks who don't drive. yes I know it's only another 60-90 mins But here I can go up and back in a day and still go to work the next day without being totally shattered. Margs yep about the fifth. The entire SW, lower west central wheatbelt and south coast is the most diverse and species intense place there is for flora. No wonder the world and the rest of Australia want our plants.
