Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 26, 2009 11:11 am Hi, i am still trying to understand some items from the inspection report, could you please help and explain what is it below: - what is residue concrete? - Rebate edge of the floor slab?? - The window glazing needs to have motifs fixed, what is motifs? Is it a logo or mark on the window? - And what is reveal and stile? I think it is talking about the window, but which part? I thought the sliding door is covered by architrave, am i not correct? The statement is “The right hand side reveal and stile to the rear sliding door unit is bowed towards its bottom and the architrave quirk down its edge is inconsistent in its with” Thanks in advance Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Need help to understand some building terms 2Mar 26, 2009 11:42 am claego What is residue concrete? claego Rebate edge of the floor slab? Is it a logo or mark on the window? That's right, but legally they should be permanent. to_do_list claego And what is reveal and stile? I think it is talking about the window, but which part? I thought the sliding door is covered by architrave, am i not correct? The statement is “The right hand side reveal and stile to the rear sliding door unit is bowed towards its bottom and the architrave quirk down its edge is inconsistent in its with” The reveal is the timber "box" that is formed by the sill, jambs and head covering the timber frame, cavity and brickwork. The report appears to say it is bent on one side and the architrave that is meant to cover the gap between plaster and reveal is not consistent along that edge because of this. The statement is “There is residue concrete from the pouring of the driveway as well as plaster compound across the finished surface of the garage floor slab that will need to be properly removed.” I went to the house yesterday but i can’t see anything on the driveway, so that’s why i am not sure what it is? to_do_list claego Rebate edge of the floor slab?
