my DA has the following:

18. Long service levy
In accordance with Section 109F(i) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act a
Construction Certificate shall not be issued until any long service levy payable under Section 34 of
the Building and Construction Industry Long Service Payments Act 1986 (or where such levy is
payable by instalments, the first instalment of the levy) has been paid. Council is authorised to accept
payment. Where payment has been made elsewhere, proof of payment is to be provided to Council.
Reason: Statutory requirement.
The builder says that I do this? Is that the normal case and any idea how much this is?
