Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Westminster Homes 541Aug 09, 2011 1:04 pm Hi All,
There will be a friendly meeting for all Westminster Homes customers on Sunday 21st August at Parramatta Leagues club. This will be a good oppourtunity for all customers to share experiences and exchange information. If you are building with Westminster Homes I urge you to come along. If you know of someone who is building with Westminster Homes who is not aware of this forum, please spread the word. This meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend. Please meet in the main foyer off the carpark at 2.45pm for a 3pm start, and wear blue so we can be identified by late arrivals. For any late comers, the group will move into one of the cafe areas upon commencement of the meeting. Just to be clear, this meeting is purely a casual get together which has been organised by a small group of Westminster Homes customers who just want to share their build experiences to date and perhaps band together and support each other moving forward. It will be a great oppourtunity to meet one another. The organisers thought it would be a good idea to extend the invitation to the wider community who are building with Westminster Homes. Regards, PJ. Re: Westminster Homes 542Aug 09, 2011 2:01 pm Hi PJ - has this been organised by WH - or by a customer? Are you building with them? Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: Westminster Homes 543Aug 09, 2011 5:55 pm nina marie Hi PJ - has this been organised by WH - or by a customer? Are you building with them? This has been organised by a group of Westminster Homes customers and is nothing official, just a gathering of customers who are building with Westminster Homes. Yes I am building with them and have been for nearly 2 years. Due to work commitments I am not able to check this forum on a regular basis but hope to see you all at Parramatta Leagues on the 21st. Regards, PJ. Re: Westminster Homes 544Aug 10, 2011 11:08 am Greta, see you on 21st August. Will be interesting to see how many people attend and what stage everyone is at. Re: Westminster Homes 546Aug 10, 2011 12:01 pm To all - Really looking forward to getting together to share our tales of WM incompetencies. I believe it will be so helpful for us all to support each other through this experience. A problem shared is a problem halved, as they say! See you there - thank you to pjbuilder for the idea.... Re: Westminster Homes 547Aug 11, 2011 8:21 am Well, it all seems to be heating up against Westminster. Who received an email last night from a clever Westminster customer? Michael the Westminster customer had an email from Westminster wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and obviously it was a list of email addresses of customers customers so well done Michael for getting a contact list. I will email the list today letting everyone know about the planned meeting at Parra Leagues Club Re: Westminster Homes 548Aug 11, 2011 2:55 pm I completely sympathise with all – luckily I am in my house (did take longer than contracted period) but am still waiting on other items to be finished (waiting for over 6 months now). In relation to the email that has been doing the rounds.... There were also some comments about public exposure etc. - I can totally understand the frustration and anger - but I do recommend to check your contracts – to the best of my knowledge “Westminster Homes Pty Ltd” or similar was affected by the DOCA, not “Westminster Building Co Pty Ltd”, but I am not an expert in this aspect of the process... Also, not everyone on this email list is necessarily a ‘home owner’ – so it is an ‘uncontrolled’ distribution… just in case you write something that is not, how do I say it, meant for public disclosure…. coley7: I am really sorry that you have had such a poor experience at such a young age it should be a very exciting time - and I hope that you will one day (soon) be able to look back at this period as a hick-up on a much greater journey.... PS: turn your CAPS key off Re: Westminster Homes 549Aug 12, 2011 5:01 pm pjbuilder nina marie Hi PJ - has this been organised by WH - or by a customer? Are you building with them? Regards, PJ. Hi PJ Have you received an email from other Westminster customers? There are now a large number of customers who are aware of this meeting, probably 30+ so maybe plenty going to be attending. Re: Westminster Homes 550Aug 15, 2011 3:44 pm This is the first time I have visited this site. I am very sorry to read this on here. This is my second Westminster Homes house I am building. We built 10 years ago in Manly and are now building in the Hills District. We are up to lock up stage and I do grant there were delays compared to when we built last time but I would have to say that the last 6 weeks I have seen a drastic improvement. I hope everyone else out there is having the same luck as us over the past 6 weeks Re: Westminster Homes 551Aug 15, 2011 6:12 pm Hi All, Due to the closure of the cafe for renovations, and a large function this Sunday at Parramatta Leagues club (causing parking to be at a premium), the location for the friendly catchup this Sunday has changed to Castle Hill RSL Club. Just to confirm: Castle Hill RSL Club Sunday 21st August 2.45pm for a 3pm start. Meet in the foyer. Regards, PJ. Re: Westminster Homes 552Aug 15, 2011 6:29 pm Hi Pj, Is there any chance this meeting can start a bit earlier than 3.00pm? can we start it at 2.00pm if possible? Re: Westminster Homes 556Aug 18, 2011 12:54 pm jande Yep I think everyone did? Hi J not sure that everyone did actually coley7 What was the letter about ?? is it about why the work isnt being done ?? I'll send you a pm Welcome to the forum - albeit in these circumstances - I'm gathering you are building with them? Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Westminster Homes 559Aug 29, 2011 11:02 pm Hi all, just thought I'd check in and advise I too got the now infamous "letter" from Barry & Michael Thurecht and it appears it has had a range on impact on those that did receive it. It was not difficult to read between the lines and it obviously scared some and riled others. I am glad to say that I have had some tiling done in the wet areas of the house last week - I did not get a chance to go today so do not know if the tilers returned to finish the wet areas but I certainly hope so. How bad is it that productivity from this company is that rare that any work carried out is a like some kind of privilege - what a joke! Re: Westminster Homes 560Aug 30, 2011 5:25 am Excellent news Tokon, at last you're getting some work done....very happy for you. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74690 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
