Re: Westminster Homes 531Jul 31, 2011 10:32 pm Hi Bel Hmm... still not sure of this SS – seems amicable enough and has inherited a few problems left by his predecessor but not really happy with the solutions – which seem to be the path of ‘least cost’ to them to correct and the results are less than favourable, so keep an eye on things. I have learnt not to trust anybody at WMH, call me cynical but how many times do you need to get bitten??? I just want to be rid of them - signing up with them has been the most costly, stressful and regrettable thing I have done to my family. About to start week 6 of an 8 week DOFT compliance order – in that time a few days of work have been done - it would take 20 workers a day on 14 hour shifts to complete in time – hahahahahahaha imagine that from this mob. I have decided to give them another week before lodging with the CTTT – it will be more obvious by then that the order will not be met - I can lodge prior to the expiry of the DOFT Order but will void the order will need to wait a month for the hearing (about 2nd week Sept) – At least I can address all of the individual issues as well as pursue liquidated damages, which I was willing to forego if they complied to the order. I wish that karma brings to all of them what they have given! Re: Westminster Homes 532Jul 31, 2011 10:39 pm I hear you tokon! We're just devastated by all of this. Being first home buyers we've been scarred for life. We had some progress this week, I'm hoping it doesn't stop there but we are very cynical. We found out that the delays are only in sydney. All jobs out of sydney are apparently going smoothly. Not sure whats up with that! Re: Westminster Homes 533Aug 01, 2011 1:42 pm jande I hear you tokon! We're just devastated by all of this. Re: Westminster Homes 534Aug 02, 2011 8:57 am Hey Jande, Please do not despair There will be an end to all of this, and in a year's time, this will be but a distant memory. Building a house can be fun, ask me, we've done it before & it was definitely nothing like this. Just keep in mind the thought of moving in & moving on with your lives. Just hang in there mate Re: Westminster Homes 535Aug 02, 2011 8:59 am Great news GForce! Swimming today, so will drive past yours later this morning. We have just had two weeks of perfect weather and only about 8 hours of work on site. Are we all the same? Hi, I am new to this site. We are building with WMH, 68 weeks since signing the contract and we are still slowly inching towards lock up. In the last three weeks no work done, not one little bit. We can not get answers, continual misleading answers by management of the company. They constantly state that they are trying to find contactors but no definitive answers as to when it is going to be finished. We lodged a complaint with DOFT, WMH simply answered DOFT that they were working towards completion. DOFT hve now provided m with documentation stating the dispute is not resolved. I have just lodged a claim today for compensation with CTTT for the rent we have had to pay for the 28 weeks since the practical completion date of the contract. We are 59 weeks since signing the contract and we are waiting for roughins to be completed, so we can then start the wait for gyprock. I dont see an end in sight at the moment and I can truly say this has been the most disheartening and painful experience of my life. Between each payment stage we have gone on average 2 months without work. Even after 14 months WM can not give us a completion date or a schedule of works. We had a DOFT mediation on site 4 weeks ago, and since then we have had 3 days of work onsite. We have now lodged an application for a hearing with the CTTT. The whole situation is hopeless and I understand that pretty much everyone building with WM is in the same boat. There are some other WM houses being built near us that have not had work done since February. I feel so so sorry for these people. I feel sorry for all the customers who are in this unfortunate situation, along with the customer facing staff who bear the brunt of customer frustration. Cheers, GForce. Re: Westminster Homes 539Aug 08, 2011 10:25 pm Hi guys, I suppose my news is a little better this week, although im terrified it will come to a nice big hault when they run out of money again! We ha insulation and gyprock completed last week (hooray!) they were delivering some timber today not too sure what that was for. I have an onsite meeting with DOFT tmro to see if we can get a "completion date" but we shall see. I'm just in shock that in 1.5 days of work they managed to complete what we have been waiting for for 5-6 months!!! Unbelievable! It appears they are working on just one house at any one time. They definitely have the contractors.. They just don't work unless paid.. Re: Westminster Homes 540Aug 09, 2011 6:02 am Hello Everyone,
Iamnothappy, welcome to our group . Believe me, we all know what you're going thru . You see, each & everyone of us can't wait for this saga to end. Building a house should not be like this, it should be fun & exciting. Like Jande & Gforce said, they do one stage, then it's a gap of two month's wait , with us we had work done in April, then nothing till the end of July...then now we're getting a small trickle, how sad I feel for all of us. You know, it's so disheartening when friends, relatives & even neighbours ask & wonder why our houses are not completed yet & you don't know what to say? Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74219 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
