Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Westminster Homes 502Jul 17, 2011 11:35 pm Well looks like its been a while since anyone has posted on this apparently dying topic - a shame really given it was probably the only available means by which we WMH victims could communicate and share our wonderful experiences with this highly professional company. Just to let those of you that are still reading this where I am personally up to: 20 June 11 - Mediation meeting with DOFT Inspector and one of the GM's from MWH (can't tell you who it’s against the rules) DOFT inspector negotiated a time frame agreed to by this GM and Compliance Order subsequently given to have all defective and incomplete works completed by 23 August 11 (great news aye?) Bla – not one bit of work carried out since that meeting 4 weeks ago and only 5 weeks till the due date - such satisfaction and honesty from this company. Was fairly optimistic at first but what a dope, I just have to look at the track record of work right? It is very unlikely anything will happen. For those that don’t know on the 22 July the ATO has will be taking WMH to the Federal Court seeking an order to have the company wind up – so that might be it – call your home warranty insurance companies and be prepared. Re: Westminster Homes 503Jul 18, 2011 11:24 am hmmm, - I didn't know that! Just checked online at the Federal Court website - and yep, there it is, proceedings started on June 6th... next hearing on July 22nd. anyone know what that means though? cause there are many 'companies' in this group of companies, and this is just one of them... Re: Westminster Homes 504Jul 18, 2011 4:45 pm Yes, they have more than one under the WM banner. Isn't this just wonderful news about a wonderful building company? How lucky are we? to get such a professional & caring builder Re: Westminster Homes 505Jul 18, 2011 7:31 pm wow, and here i was hoping for some good news?! hah yeah right. Has anyone got the link of the federal court website where its listed? i cant seem to see wm. Funny that i called wm today and they said we should have an answer about a gyprocker by friday!? interesting. Re: Westminster Homes 506Jul 18, 2011 11:50 pm Hi Jande The link is https://www.comcourts.gov.au/file/Feder ... 11/actions - open up the tabs for more info. I expect that an adjournment will be sought by WMH to buy a bit more time, this is quite normal - question is, is to get the $ needed to pay the tax man or just putting off the inevitable???? Either way = time, time, time costing me $$$$$ and anguish. I used to go to my development site and smile at the prospect of our new home -now I avoid even going there because of the instant depression, frustration and anger that flows over me when I see it (looks like an abandoned project that's been sitting there for years with a rubbish pile out front - very sad!) Re: Westminster Homes 507Jul 19, 2011 7:19 am I know exactly what you're saying Tokon, we too used to be very proud & excited when we visited our build, now, the place looks old & sad...old & abandoned ....I guess it's just a waiting game for all of us for this wonderful building company. Re: Westminster Homes 512Jul 21, 2011 12:34 pm Hi all Well it appears that WMH have settled their accounts with the ATO and the matter has been withdrawn. In addition, from what I have been told, there is now a concentrated effort to finish oustanding projects - and I suspect that means all of us here and a couple more. I am glad to say that a fixing carpenter worked at my home yesterday and we are finally, after 16 months since signing the 36 week contract, at LOCK-UP Hope the momentum continues. There is no way the house will be finished by the DOFT order date of 23/8/11 but I will wait and see what works are carried out over the next 2 weeks before I decide whether to lodge a complaint with the CTTT - really hope WMH do the right thing, it's been long enough - for all of us!!! Re: Westminster Homes 513Jul 21, 2011 1:04 pm Whooooooo Hooooooo Tokon, THIS IS GREAT NEWS, you've made my day. But, I'm scared this happiness won't last, but for all our sakes, I really do hope that they are back on track Re: Westminster Homes 514Jul 22, 2011 12:03 am Tokon I got told the same thing as well so maybe they are going to pick up their socks..? Although the person i spoke to did sound kind of more genuine then usual.. I did kind of laugh at them when they told me, couldn't help but be cynical.. We've been broken too many times cos we believed! Lol Fingers crossed (and everything else) that stuff happens! Congrats on locking up!!!!! Very happy for you!
