Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 468Jun 06, 2011 11:15 pm Hi again all In regard to Home Warranty Insurance (springtime) – don’t know too much about the eligibility to make a claim, although I know it is there to protect the consumer – I must find out more. Makes sense that it would cover the cost of finishing/repairing the house should the builder be unable to do so. Re: Westminster Homes - The official thread 469Jun 07, 2011 9:15 am We're looking into the home warranty insurance now. Will let you know how we go in pm when we get more info. Seems like a whole other fight on its own! Isn't it sad that we are the ones that are being screwed around but then we are the ones that have to fight it.. not knowing how it's going to end. What a nightmare! Re: Westminster Homes 471Jun 17, 2011 4:28 am To all loyal and valued members, We apologise for any inconvenience in removing this thread and for locking it in the interim as reference material only. This action is a direct result of the few problematic members blatantly disregarding the Forum Terms of Use by: 1. Naming individuals or attempting to provide enough information to personally identify respective individual/s; 2. Posting highly unacceptable and objectionable information; and 3. Ignoring repeated Support Team warnings Thankfully all IP addresses are obtained and a file on each offending member put aside for legal purposes. It has been decided that we aim to restore this thread for ongoing dialogue on a conditional basis that we do not see a repeat of any of the above, otherwise the entire thread and any related discussion will be swiftly removed. Despite the hardship that some are experiencing which we sincerely understand, all members must always abide by the Forum Terms of Use to which you agreed upon at the time of registering at this forum. Again, if you agreed to the Forum Terms of Use by accepting your forum membership you must abide by them, otherwise we request that you leave immediately as you will not be welcome here by the forum community. Furthermore, as you are solely responsible for your own postings, we urge all members to conduct yourselves as rationally and constructively as possible - in accordance with the Forum Terms of Use - in the best interests of all parties concerned. Think carefully as you type each and every word and before you publish your information and save yourself the embarrassment and potentially further hardship. Should you have any questions, or wish to report other members for any of the above stated breaches, please send a PM directly to homeone. Re: Westminster Homes 473Jun 21, 2011 12:22 am Well I am glad to see that the Forum is back and running. It also appears from the posts removed/edited that I am one of the culprits - yoohoo! I must say though that I am a little disappointed in the reasons such comments caused such a concern - these tests seem highly subjective and there is not mechanism to challenge H1's assessment of them. It is my understanding that forums sites are not liable for the comments made by its subscribers, they are after all, merely providing a service and cannot control what is being expressed nor should they be accountable for them. Sure rules can be imposed but who judges what is 'highly unacceptable and objectionable information'? Hmm...seems I cannot freely express myself on this forum, regardless that what is being expressed is factual or hypothetical - then so be it! I hope what I just said isn't highly unacceptable and objectionable? My main objective is to stay in touch with other satisfied WMH customers and share our wonderful experiences Anyway, here's my update - I had my DOFT Inspector / WMH mediation meeting today. One of the General Managers was present and was for all appearances taking on board all of the information about the problems and defects identified at the site, and explaining, where he could, what the remedy would be. At the end of the long process an acceptable timeframe from completion has been agreed to - so we shall wait and see. Would love to share more detail but....if interested send me a PM. Regards Tokon Re: Westminster Homes 474Jun 21, 2011 1:20 am tokon Well I am glad to see that the Forum is back and running. Re: Westminster Homes 476Jun 22, 2011 1:04 pm springtime Hello, anyone there.....? Hi springtime! Yeah ... it is kinda quiet here, isn't it. I think everyone has been scared off ... particularly if they are having bad experiences then possibly too scared to post about it. But so long as people don't get personal (eg. with someone's name) and keep it respectable, I hope this thread stays alive... For us though, we have stopped talking with WMH. We are seriously talking to another builder at the moment. Shame as the price was good and the paper / tender service was excellent. Definitely the best estimator we have experienced - where the guy looked at our Custom plans then the tender was well tailored to our exact build. I have a friend around the corner who is about to sign with WMH and I told her about the thread. She spoke with WMH and they said they were aware of this thread, but that they build 160 homes a year and only a few not going so well. I am not saying that is correct, as I definitely got the impression from here that there were more than 2 or 3 sloooooooww builds. But tokon's mediation sounded positive. How is your situation going? SunshineT's Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34585 Designs start: 4/12/09 DA: 5/7/11 Demo: 22/12/11 Slab: 24/2/12 Keys: 31/8/12 Re: Westminster Homes 477Jun 22, 2011 5:24 pm Hi Sunshine T, Well, I'm pleased to say that a brickie has been allocated to our job at loooooooooooooong last I suggest that your friend takes their contract before signing & maybe get someone to look at it , they need to ensure it states clearly what happens should the build not be finished on time. I believe BW & Masterton offer a weekly sum , but WM do not. Everyone knows that things don't always go smoothly when building, but from my past experience, the experience should not be this complicated. How about you, any new progress? & I wonder how all our forum friends are doing? Re: Westminster Homes 479Jun 22, 2011 5:30 pm SunshineT ...so long as people don't get personal (eg. with someone's name) and keep it respectable, I hope this thread stays alive... Well said SunshineT. Re: Westminster Homes 480Jun 22, 2011 7:22 pm Sorry, meant to reply instead I pm'd Yes Bel, we have progress, drove past today, the bricks, sand cement, cement mixer are there already, They've even put lots of bricks around the house ready to start, so we're hoping to start tomorrow. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74701 I would never build with Fowler homes.
