(pics) 22Mar 25, 2009 5:31 am sarzy, is your house really 520 sqm??? that's almost my entire block is it single or double storey? (pics) 23Mar 25, 2009 7:17 am Possibly Sarzy meant 520 sqs or whatever they are? So in that case it would be around the same size as Petal's house. Or maybe Sarzy is really building a 520sqm house - in which case I am well and truly in awe. The biggest house I have ever seen was around 70sqs and that was massive. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: The story so far.... (pics) 24Mar 25, 2009 8:04 am Thanks sarzy for the info. I really appreciate it. Can you tell me what the name of your pendants were, I could not find them on the website-maybe I was not looking properly! . Also approx how much were they? Thanks Re: The story so far.... (pics) 25Mar 25, 2009 1:01 pm Sorry guys! I obviously read the wrong thing off the plan! The house is fairly big, but its not monstrous!!!
It is 55.5 sq total, I am pretty sure that's right!! I'm having trouble getting the house plans in as noone at work can find the scanner and the original plans won't allow me to delete detail off them. But I'll work on it! Does anyone have any ideas bearing in mind that I"m not very techno minded?? Donuts - its two storey; living, kitchen, kids rooms, study, theatre room, guest room and alfresco on lower. Master room, ensuite, small balcony and robes on upper. Sahana - the lights are called "Greta" pendants. They were $295 each from memory. I couldn't see them on the website either but give the ladies a call, they are very helpful. Wonderland - obviously we have similar taste in colours! The HT room is in Dulux Twisted Time, sort of an browny/eggplanty colour. My Dh's choice but I'm happy with it. Bamboo floors to living should be finished today and then the outside painting will be done (horizontal coffee high gloss; yep these were ordered well before I read any negatives about them so fingers crossed..) . When I look at all my choices, I seem to have a tonne of different feature tiles and laminates (I have white with fudge stream in the laundry), but as they're fairly spread out and have white as a base particulary downstairs, I hope it will come together all right. BFN, Sarz Re: The story so far.... (pics) 26Mar 25, 2009 1:10 pm Sarzy - it is all just gorgeous and you must be really happy with your selections. I am surprised how affordable those pendants were - the website looked scarily expensive To edit your plans you could try importing the file into something like photobucket and then cropping out the section with your name / address. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: The story so far.... (pics) 28Mar 25, 2009 1:22 pm Hi sarzy, Thanks for the info re the tiles. To edit your plans if it is a pdf or something, you can do a screen capture (press the print screen button on your keyboard) and then paste it into 'Paint' where you can delete what you don't want to show and then save it as a jpeg and upload as usual through photobucket or something similar. Hope that makes sense , but just in case there is a thread about it too. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6005&hilit=How+to+post+pdf%27s Looking forward to seeing your plans 'chelle We have a hand-over date...15/10...but I won't hold my breath! http://people-in-glass-houses.blogspot.com/ Re: The story so far.... (pics) 29Mar 25, 2009 1:28 pm Sarzy Just gorgeous! We're also going white kitchen / benchtop, grey walls, white trims etc etc! So glad it all looks good together! You've obviously spent a bit of time choosing everything coz there are some nicely unusual pieces/features in there! Those pendants are beautiful too.. Love the WIR - are the sloped shelves for shoes or clothes sorry if that is a silly question!?? Re: The story so far... UPDATE WITH FLOORS (pics) 32Mar 26, 2009 6:18 pm Ok this is my lame attempt to upload plans with pics taken from my phone.. I think you will be able to get an overall idea though. Thanks for looking, Sarzy Re: The story so far.... (pics) 33Mar 26, 2009 6:38 pm What a beautiful home you have sarzy I love those bathroom tiles you have selected (the iron coloured ones) very modern and definately gives the bathroom that wow factor. What type of wood flooring have you got...(sorry if you have already answered it ) Really nice use of space, your gorgeous children are going to love their new home. Looking forward to more pictures as always Mrs B Re: The story so far - NEW FLOOR PICS 34Mar 26, 2009 6:51 pm Thanks Mrs B. Touche!!! I also forgot to mention I love your interior green wardrobe doors! Do you know what paint colour they are? The floor is Horizontal Bamboo in coffee colour, high gloss. We ordered it after dh and I couldn't decide on what we wanted. He wanted all tiles, i wanted timber or polished concrete. I have to say it looks brilliant installed but after reading a few threads on here I'm a bit nervous about how it will wear with 3 kids, 2 dogs and a pool.. but hey it looks fab and I shall just have to be super bossy about taking shoes off and not dragging things on the floor. Doggies live outside anyway. Thanks again, its all so exciting as it starts to come together. Cheers, Sarzy Re: The story so far.... (pics) 35Mar 26, 2009 7:00 pm Hi sarzy For the last 20 years (gees I sound old but I'm not really ) I have lived in houses with wooden floors. They do scratch etc but I have always thought it just adds to the 'patina' of the wood...it is not meant to be perfect. Hopefully yours will hold up well and they are going to be so easy to clean, I think that is the most important thing. You must be so excited and it looks like we are at the same stage of our builds Mrs B Re: The story so far.... (pics) 36Mar 26, 2009 7:10 pm Yes I think very similar stage! Although our outside painting is not done yet, but pretty much all the interior is finished. Carpets go in next week, and all tiling should be finished by then too. Will prob not move in for at least 3 to 4 weeks though as slight hold up on outside painting. Sarz Re: The story so far.... (pics) 38Mar 27, 2009 8:37 am wow, great floorplan. looks like your entry light is going to be stunning too, can we see a pic of that when the bag comes off please hi kids! bet they're excited.
