Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: The story so far.... (pics) 42Mar 27, 2009 1:17 pm wow , someones got mega bucks! Melington - what a cool concept! Re: The story so far.... (pics) 45Mar 27, 2009 3:37 pm sarzy, the ensuite is really so so huge! nearly 4.5x5m. Also, the parents' retreat is so nice. I love the way u configure the bed 3,4 without wall at this stage. THe young boys, ( and probably the girl should also too) should enjoy a very happy time chatting, being superman/spiderman and playing together in this large bedrm. Really when they grow older and need their privacy and personal space, just have the dividing wall in. Re: The story so far.... I absolutely love your floors. Thanks for the name of the pendant. Shall follow this up when time is ready. Your laundry cupboards look really nice too. Are they polyurethane as well or a shiny laminate? Re: The story so far.... (pics) 49Mar 27, 2009 8:56 pm sarzy Errmmm.. noooo Slingerman. We are selling a house that we have previously paid off and are building our dream home, complete with dream mortgage. Everyone else - thanks you are very kind.. Good for you (I thought that Slingerman's comment was a bit rude and harsh too). I think it's great that you are able to do this, I'm sure you guys have worked hard all your lives and you deserve it, enjoy Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. (pics) 52Mar 27, 2009 11:37 pm Thanks HelsnGreg - You are right, both my Dh and I work and always have. We have also made sacrifices to build this house, as well as being somewhat lucky with buying our existing house when the market was low. We won't be going anywhere in a hurry! Was nearly ready to retreat from this forum, but have really enjoyed looking at other people's builds and meeting other like-minded people so am not going to let it get to me. Daring2build, Tillie, Sahana, Buildingadream home, Nott, Pink Fairy Magic, Rachelle, Claego and Wonderland and all the other lovely people that have replied - Thanks so much for your feedback, I have second-guessed so many decisions and I really appreciate your positive feedback. Thanks again. Nott, I think you're right, the kids are going to have a blast in the double bedroom. At the end of the day, its all good when you see how happy they are to have their own space! Sahana - the cupboards are laminate, white gloss with fudge stream tops in laundry. Let me know how you get on with lights Thanks all, Sarz Re: The story so far.... (pics) 53Mar 28, 2009 5:59 am The whole house is gorgeous, sarzy - love the finishes and the feature colours. I'm with everyone else - the tiles are beautiful! Re: The story so far.... Hi Sarzy You dont have to justify anything to us that was just a silly one off comment that is not even worthy of a response. We are all financially at different stages of our lives and build homes according to our family needs. Everybody who is gracious enough to show a picture of their beautiful home on this forum has always had positive feedback without any hint of judgement I for one think you have a wonderful family home and hope to see many more pictures. Mrs B Re: The story so far.... (pics) 55Mar 28, 2009 7:47 am Thank you Mrs B and Kek. Thought I might put my external colours up, starting to wonder if there is enough contrast between them. The lighter colour, barn floor is for the main exterior and the darker is for the small amount of upstairs render, as well as around the BBQ enclosure in the alfresco. We are also having some stacked stone on the front pillar things. Anyway, nothing is set in stone (or render) at this point.. so let me know what you think! (pics) 56Mar 28, 2009 7:51 am Exciting to see someone else with some black in their kitchen I had a look at that lighting place link too. Showed hubby a garage light I liked. BUt he wasn't too fussed. sigh. I'm yet to look and to see what their internal lights are like. I love those bathroom tiles. I don't dare show hubby or he'd want them instead of the cork flooring we've paid a deposit for. We saw something similar the week before we paid our cork deposit and hubby kept repeating... are you sure you want cork? hehehe But they are lovely and we'd definitely be looking for something just like those if it wasn't for my bad knees.. Love your nice wide front door. Re: The story so far.... (pics) 57Mar 28, 2009 9:29 am Sarz, I seriously am in LOVE with your house! Everything seems to tie itself together marvellously! I think your external colour choices are excellent, I've seen similar colours done to houses and I think it compliments each other nicely. I guess it depends whether you want a major contrast like white and red! But I like the colours that you have chosen now. Also, the colour soffite, what are you using that for? Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: The story so far.... (pics) 58Mar 28, 2009 9:42 am wonderland.. I 'think' she means she is using that colour for her soffit. (under eaves) Forgive me if I am wrong Hi Sarzy.. Your home is just beautiful.. I love your external colours and your interior choices are so different and really make a statement. The pendant lights over the kitchen look a little large to me but I am sure they look amazing in real life. Love the outdoor pavers.. I haven't seen many pics of the rectangle ones, love them!! Great job you guys are doing.. (don't let rude financial comments, that i actually think was meant as a compliment, get you down ) -Sha Re: The story so far.... (pics) 59Mar 28, 2009 10:33 am Love your colours sarzy, I think they'll look lovely. the water feature in your front garden will look gorgeous too. don't worry about the other thing. jealousy can sometimes bring out the worst in people unfortunately. (pics) 60Mar 28, 2009 10:57 am Sha - funny you should say that about the pendants. When they first went in, I freaked out and was worried that they were too huge, I was really close to moving them to the bar. I was even going to start a thread "Do my lights look big in this?" However, now everything else is going in, I am thrilled with how they look but you are dead right, they are a definite statement! Oh and yes you are right, the bottom colour beige royal is for my soffit or eaves. Wonderland - Thank you, seriously; very nice compliment! I guess I don't want a big contrast with the exterior paints but do want them to look different iykwim. Not going for too modern a look on the exterior, more like country vineyard ish.. if that makes sense.. What stage are you up to with your build? Kexkez - I'm sure the cork will look gorgeous and be great on yr knees!! Donuts - thanks! I think I will paint some board in my external colours and have a play with it around the house to make sure it looks Ok IRL. Ok, gotta go, work calls, Sarz The OP has gone The latch and striker are definitely not aligned but there was no point trying to help the OP understand that.
