Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 23, 2009 7:21 am Dear All, This forum is great and I am glad to discover it ! Building house is such an undescribable experience and risky too. It is great to share the experiences and help each other. Am looking forward to it all. First time building and so I guess it is inevitable to be unclear about many times, right? Hope to learn from everybody else. The house is in fixing stage now and the tiler has just completed putting up the tiles. How long does yours take to receive a notification of completion? I'm wondering if I am doing the right thing by checking the works myself and informing the builder when it is not to plan. Do you guys do that? So far, I have discovered a few things. 1. The roof tiles are in different shade and appeared to be in two different colours. 2. The power plugs are positioned wrongly. 3. The refrigerate space provisioning was not as per plan and the colour of the kitchen cabinet is not what I have chosen. They seemed to feel that I am very fussy and problematic by raising so many issues. Do your builder make these sort of mistakes? Our builder was keen for us to raise any questions/issues with our site supervisor. He's been able to fix everything we've raised and I would think it's better to raise it sooner rather than later. All those isses sound pretty big! You shouldn't be accepting anything that's not as agreed in writing from your colour consultation. Especially kitchen cabinets and roof tiles! I'm no electrician but moving powerpoints sounds like it might be tricky once the gyprocks gone in. You're not problematic and fussy, you would just like what was agreed on!
