Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 23, 2009 5:44 am So Plantation advised us that as long as our letter to complete construction is back to them by this friday, construction on our block will start on the 30th. But last week the site supervisor went out and informed us that he couldn't find the electrical or telstra conduit. The site plans we gave them (which we got off the developer) had the various conduits hand drawn on the plan to show where they were and we can easily find the water. On Sunday we were up there getting rid of dirt and hubby lifted the telstra box and saw that there was conduit coming into the telstra but we cant find where it finishes. I have a feeling that when the other developers were using our block as their dumping ground they've run over it and now it's buried under months of rain and shifting dirt. Plantation have advised us that they wont start construction without the conduit. Is this right? surely they can do the scrape and cut without needing the conduit? My question is: can they run all 3 conduits along the same trench? Because on our plan we have the water on one side of the driveway and the electrical and telstra on the other side. Also, has anyone had to have this done in brisbane and can they recommend someone for the electrical? I rang Telstra and they said 6 weeks for goodness sakes! Re: Conduit issues 2Mar 23, 2009 7:25 am Plantation will need to know where the conduits are... Depending on the type of house, the conduits may need to be installed into the slab, and as such will need to be done long before the slab is poured! Have you tried talking to the developer? They should have an electrical plan for the "as constructed" plot... Telstra don't need to be involved in the phone hookup... Get a licensed cabler, who Plantation should be organising anyway.... And if all else fails, try calling dial before you dig.... the free call number.... Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! the conduit would need to be undamaged regardless of what network is in play. The conduit needs to be able to have fibre run through it. NBN and Opticomm are just… 4 2876 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 30235 I am looking at building a house. Has anyone used Construkt Homes (based in Adelaide)? Does anyone have experience with this builder? 0 6446 |
