Ha! I remember you posting that on the 'what did you buy today thread'! Who could blame you flaunting that pot around?! Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 683Aug 15, 2010 10:55 am hELLO, I absolutely love your colour selection. You obviously have a designing talent. Can I ask if the wooden floorboards at the front of the house are easy to clean? I really love that look and was hoping to get it but I have been told that it is hard work DAILY. Also we wanted kitchen cupboards to the ceiling, are they convenient or is it hard to get to things? Thanks Claudia Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 684Aug 15, 2010 12:58 pm Hi Claudia, thanks for your lovely comments. I have NO designing talent but was very fortunate to have some great advice along the way. The floorboards are fairly low maintenance, especially as my DH cleans them. I'm very lucky. We vacuum once a week and then run over them with an enjo mop, just with water, no chemicals. They come up a treat. Being shiney they do show dust but it is not too obvious. I don't think they are anymore hard work than tiles would be. The cupboards to the ceiling are convenient because they give so much storage, things can be hard to get to as I am not overly tall but I just use a small step ladder, chair or ask someone else to get it for me! I have made sure things I don't need very often are up the top. In our last home the cupboard didn't go all the way to the ceiling and I had to clean up there all the time, they get so dusty and greasy from cooking. Good luck with your decisions and I would love to see some pics of your home. Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 685Aug 15, 2010 8:15 pm Hello, Thanks for the information. It has taken a long time for us to get council approval but we are finally back on track. We hope that they will not take them long now to get started. We have had all our appointments done...after seeing your house I will call and see if we can make the cupboards to the ceiling. I agree they always get greasy and mesy at the top. As soon as there is anything up, I will send you some pics. Take care Claudia Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 687Sep 15, 2010 7:02 pm Thanks Dreamer, that's a committment - 35 pages!! Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 689Sep 16, 2010 4:41 pm It must have been! Are you building? Do you have a thread? Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 690Sep 20, 2010 9:59 am fairy blue It must have been! Are you building? Do you have a thread? No unfortunately I am not building. I joined this forum ages ago when I hoped we would be building. Waited ages on a new release of land and in the end the whole lot was sold to Defence Housing. Now I just stalk the building threads. Would love to build but not sure it will ever work out for us!!! Land is so expensive. We keep an eye out for new land releases though. We may just end up moving to an established house. We already have a house but it's just too small now with 2 kids. Re: Fairy Blues New Home - Front landscaping pics pg34 700Dec 06, 2010 12:25 pm Hi Fairy Blue Just skimmed through your thread - congratulations! Your home is gorgeous! I have a question about your pool. Did you get the self cleaning system installed and if so how are you finding it? I'm building a new house soon (I hope) and planning on having a pool. I was intending to get a concrete one but now I'm considering fibreglass. I recently finished my house and after landscaping, have begun to plan a fence. To be honest its been a bit of an afterthought so I'm after some much needed advice.
