Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 20, 2009 2:52 pm So PD want to charge me for a door that's already included as part of the promotion because we want to upgrade the glass to translucent.
Apparently if you upgrade a promotion item, you have to pay full price for the item. SO instead of just charging me to upgrade the glass in the door (4 small panels), they are charging me for the WHOLE DOOR plus the translucent glass. However.. They also undercharged me on the fixed site costs by $2,300 so I guess it all works out, hey? Re: PD Issues.. 4Mar 20, 2009 3:14 pm Im not building with PD , but that sounds a bit strange to me
Why pay for a whole door when you just need to change the glass. We upgraded our glass to translucent and paid $80 for 6 panels in a corinthian door, The doors arent made with glass already in them, someone has to put it in .... Surely you would only have to pay for the upgraded glass. I would fight them on that one. Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! That what I've been charged... Didn't say anything about the whole door, just the glass 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' We got the translucent glazing to the sidelights surrounding the door and also on our bathroom and esnuite windows. For the side lights it was $263 and windows is $176. Obviously the $332 is more expensive for a smaller area, so i queried it. Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August. So why are they charging me more for a smaller area? She told me she had to charge me for the door. "When you upgrade an item from the promotion you are charged the full price of the item." Could it be a staining fee as well? Re: PD Issues.. 12Mar 20, 2009 4:09 pm Ari erinleigh So why are they charging me more for a smaller area? She told me she had to charge me for the door. Was the PMAD 104 include in the price as part of your promotion? Or did you pay for this as well? May i ask wether you are building with the Access, Lifestyle or Prestige? I am feeling really ripped off. I remember the girl from hopetoun told me it would only be around $80 to upgrade the door to translucent glass. Re: PD Issues.. 14Mar 20, 2009 4:55 pm I've got the PMAD104 door as part of my promotion with PD as well.
I got charged $166 to change from clear to transclucent on the 4 panels on the door. Did you by chance change your sidelights to have transclucent instead of clear? That count account for the additional amount? Our sidelights were an additional $263...but then this changes obviously with the house design. I would definately query it. Just tell them that you feel this amount is too high and you have enquired with other friends who are building with PD. I'm with the Western Office in Melb....which PD office are you going through? Re: PD Issues.. 15Mar 20, 2009 5:15 pm BTW hopetoun should NOT be quoting any kind of pricing - they don't know the prices and they don't see the prices 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Seems that way sometimes doesn't it. All I can put it down to is the differences between Access, Lifestyle and Prestige - they are pretty much run separately 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.'
