Well as long as you were right...that's all that matters, hey. Don't worry about the unnecessary stress caused to some members and the sleepless nights that bel must be having. Oh and I think you'll find that the word is banned not band. You could have handled this in such a different way, to help some of us out. Shame really. Yeh if you want a band, go to a different forum. If you think I take your comments personally, well yeh you are right. It's an emotional time for all involved, comments like that don't help anyone. Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Another builder goes 64Mar 26, 2009 5:27 pm to all you home owners who have taken offence, tuff. my position is that i'm about to loose everything i've worked for for 15 years, as they owe me alot of money. and as i say once again on this forum all you home owners effected will have all your homes finished thanks to insurance, it will just take a little longer, but at the end of the day you will end up with the home that you payed for. Re: Another builder goes 65Mar 26, 2009 5:41 pm ......^^ and maybe if you told us from the outset I wouldn't have jumped down your throat and would have shown you compassion too. I agree no one wins in the situation, but having a go at us it's going to help. I won't get a house, it hasn't started, so I just lose money. It maybe not as much as you, but it's enough for me to lose, and will have to be factored in my costs when I do actually build. Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Another builder goes 66Mar 26, 2009 5:44 pm Im sure that nobody here likes to hear of anyone losing their job and the 15 years you put into your work. For that I am sorry. But To say "tuff" is harsh. For most people this is the biggest thing in their life they will do. And expecting them to do anything but stress and worry at the thought of a builder going down is crazy. Im sure everyone is grateful for the heads up, just show a bit of compassion and sympathy for poor folks that are building. Yes their house will be finished in time. But these people will be stressing and worrying, and the time of build blown out. Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! I don't take offence, can't be bothered with people who only think of themselves. However I do feel the need to correct you on a few things. Don't tell people that their insurance will cover them, because it doesn't. We will have our house in a few months, which will be just over 2 years since we started our build. By the time this has ended we will be tens of thousands out of pocket. More money that what some of the trades and creditors lost when MB went under. The same for many MB clients. Some may not even end up with their houses because they can no longer afford them. It is awful that you may lose your job or business, but you are not the only person affected. Nor the only person who has even been in this situation, many on homeone have also probably experienced losing a job or business. If you have never had a builder become insolvent on you whilst building your house you truly do not understand what happens in that situation and how it affects people. I don't begin to assume how this will affect you and you should show others the same courtesy. Maybe your time would be better spent talking to family and friends who could give you the support and advice you need at this time rather than spending it causing further stress and grief to those who have really had enough of their own. It's awful that you are having to go through this and I really hope that things get better for you.
