Have you seen them both with the bricks? I think ironstone is my fav but we are having woodland grey. Doesn't it feel great once selections are over!? Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 22Mar 23, 2009 11:18 pm Thanks gk! Sorry, haven't had a chance to add the internal colours selection yet... Will try tomorrow. Hi Ari, Ironstone seems to be a bit more of a blue colour and Woodland grey a bit greyer. I really wanted woodland gray but our colour consultant said we should go with ironstone... I have seen both with the bricks and I still like woodland grey better but with the tiles ironstone matches better. Ohhhhh, it's all so confusing! It feels good having the selections over apart from the fact that I am starting to doubt our selections now... it's hard without seeing it all come together (hope D@n's PC is up and running soon and he has a bit of time). I had a go at photoshop but I don't think it looks that great... Maybe it was just my skills. Just with the Ironstone I thought this was darker than woodland grey. I was tossing b/w these two colours also and picked woodland grey. Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 24Mar 23, 2009 11:29 pm Thanks Hermyleen, we might end up having to change our external colours as I am just not sure that I am confident with our choices.. It all seems really easy with the confidence of the colour consultant but when you look at them at home on your own.... You might strike it lucky and find one of them has used your tiles etc. and see the whole picture together. I also have Austral bricks and went to buy one so I could have a sample at home but they gave me 3 and said that is what they usually give people who have selected their brick. They also offered the addresses of houses with the same bricks without me having to ask. Might be worth a try to put your mind at ease. Thanks klscomps, we did go driving around checking out addresses of houses that had built with our bricks but since it's a reasonable new brick there weren't many out there and none with our roof tiles, the closest one I guess it is the one I put at the beggining of this thread to show people the colour of our bricks. I just haven't been able to sleep much the last couple of days thinking about this, you don't get a second go with the colour consultant so we'll just have to find further samples and keep looking around the next few days. I just wish I could see it on the screen but as I said my attempt at photoshop was pretty poor, the colours just didn't look right... Anyone out there has used the same brick or at least roof tiles? Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 28Mar 24, 2009 4:19 pm Hi Jochicho, I went to the Ponds today to get some ideas on landscaping and what we can do with our alfresco area and found that the AV Jennings display homes had one of each colours in their display homes - Ironstone, Woodland Grey and Jasper for the guttering/fascia; they also had light coloured bricks so maybe you can check that out if you are not too far away, maybe you can bring your bricks with you to see if it is similar in colour??? If you are still worried. Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 29Mar 24, 2009 4:38 pm Thanks Hermyleen, We live on the North Shore so it's a bit of a trip for during the week but I will go around driving on Saturday and check them out, thanks for the tip. I'll try posting my ******* photoshop job later tonight so at least you can all see if I am being paranoid or if it looks ok... Thanks everyone for your input. Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 31Apr 15, 2009 10:30 pm Hi Hermyleen, Sorry, sorry, sorry. I meant to get back on this and say thanks heaps for the tip about the colourbond colours at the AV Jennings houses. We went to the Ponds and checked the AV jennings gutters colours and just as you said they had both colours! the sales lady was nice enough to check the specs of the houses and confirm it. We are happy with Ironstone now, it does have a bit of a blue tinge but not as bad as my ******* photoshop attempt... We have gone into Council today! now the waiting game... I don't think I have yet posted the rest of my internal colours and I did promise, didn't I? ok, here we go: Kitchen cupboards - white poly matt finish (but sometimes I am starting to think that maybe we should go gloss... and more after seeing Mrs B's kitchen) Barback and overhead cupboards in kitchen - Smoky sapelle laminex Kitchen bench - Osprey caesar stone Bathroom cabinets - Oyster linea laminex Bathrooms benchtops - Fresh snow laminex Interior paint - Taubmans/Bristol White smoke (but after hearing that it can have a green tinge to it I am starting to re-consider...) Windows - Pearl white (I am sure I posted this when I put the ext. colours). Your kitchen looks great and so do the bathrooms, I hope the height of the taps works out ok, you should probably see if that's their standard height and if it's not then make them change them if they are too low... What colour is your kitchen benchtop, I love it! I also read in your blog that you weren't well, I really do hope you are feeling much better and that you are not stressing too much about the house. Thanks again for your help. You did end up going with woodland grey, didn't you? Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 33Apr 15, 2009 11:16 pm How long did they say it will take for council to approve, ours only took 5 weeks. I think you need to post some pics of your kitchen colours, internal and external - all of them My camera batteries ran out when I went to the Ponds otherwise I would have taken the photo for you and I've not had a chance to go since. My benchtop is caesarstone ice snow, I'm really pleased with the colour too and thanks for asking about my health that's really sweet. I'm doing ok, as well as can be. Thanks again Re: Help with external colours pls-D@n need your skills too pls 34Apr 16, 2009 9:48 pm Hi Hermyleen, I should post the colours, shouldn't I? Ok, just cause you've asked me, I will try to get pics of the samples in daylight on the w/e and post them up. It's ok, I did get to see both the ironstone and the woodland in real life thanks to your tip about the AV jennings homes so now I am happy with our Ironstone choice, it matches the rooftiles very well. Nice to hear that you are doing ok, hope you are doing good soon! Ciao Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ The Dulux colour consultants are awesome.
