Browse Forums Building A New House Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2501Apr 25, 2012 10:45 am Yeah I suspected that people who used to drive to Lalor to catch the train from North Epping-Wollert/South Morang/Mernda (Doreen?) would now just go to South Morang. The report on Monday was that the car park was half full by 6:30am and full by 8:00am, but that is normal for any train station car park - if you're not there by 7:30am-7:45am at the latest then you're usually parking in a nearby street at any train station. At 450 spots the South Morang station carpark would be one of the bigger ones on the entire train network already (although having Glenroy's 700 spaces would be nice), so I can't see them expanding it any time soon unless it suddenly starts filling up by 7am. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2502Apr 25, 2012 8:06 pm Hi Snake, I am going to begin building in Lyndarum by the beginning of June. Carlisle Home our builder has told me that NBN is a requirement by the estate and is charging me 2.5k to have this done. I know you have said it costs you over 2k but I still can't justify the cost. What is required that needs 2.5k just for 1 telephone point and 2 Data points. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2507Apr 26, 2012 11:40 pm acherion Did anyone's rubbish get picked up this morning? Public holiday on Wednesday, so your rubbish will usually get picked up a day later than usual - ie. they'll do Wednesday's and mabe some of Thursday's zone on Thursday and clean up the rest of Thursday's zone and and all Friday's zone on Friday (people that normally get their rubbish picked up early on Friday will get it picked up later in the day). At least that's how it works where we are anyway. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2508Apr 27, 2012 7:38 am Thanks mate... That's all I wanted to know whether its gonna cost me a lot more in the future. I'd rather have the 2.5K priced in my building contract. Cheers mate!!! They really, really need to do something about the bus services. Not just in South Morang but Epping as well. If they do that, a lot of people will use them. The big difficulty with the buses, especially from our area, is they are every 40 minutes or so. So that makes driving a far better proposition. Glen Hi Glen, You're right its not cheap for what seems like very little but I'm hoping it will be well worth it in the long run. I'm just looking over my contract now, its costing us about almost 2k for all the internal stuff and external connection (from the road to the house). Like yours, thats for 2 data points and 1 phone point and all the NBN Co hardware like the power unit and modem looking thing. I dont mind the small number of points too much as i'm planning to use a wireless router and phone with multiple handsets so I can service the whole house with just the one point. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2512Apr 30, 2012 1:54 pm Any idea when Lyndarum Stage 31 (Lyndarum 2 - stage 1) will get ADSL2+ or cable network? in NBN rollout there is mention of Stage 32A & 32B - in regards to work commenced. Nowhere mention at all of stage 31. I just have one data point in the bedroom and one the Rumpus room setup. Btw where in Lyndarum are you building and with whom? I am building on Minto Avenue with Carlisle Homes. My contract signing is on the 2nd and should start construction by June if the loan goes thru Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2514May 01, 2012 8:44 am Quote: Hi Snake, That is exactly what I am going to do. Shame that my little Bindts Lane shortcut will soon be infiltrated with other cars though Does anyone know if the shoe/clothing collection bag recently put in our letterboxes that says "next collection will be this coming Friday" was for last Friday or this Friday? I think I've held onto mine too long Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2516May 02, 2012 8:40 pm cheaper getting now then getting later, but it will be a while until it is relaese just so u know, i called nbn they said could be a couple years depends what stage. I need it for my job. I called aurora help desk and the answer was we can do "dmz" and when i asked what's that the operater said don't know but I will ask one of our IT to call you back but no one call back. I heard with iinet can do port forward and not sure if correct.anyone can help and give me an answer please!! Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2520May 03, 2012 3:34 pm Using dmz as a substitute for port forwarding for PC's = bad (generally speaking): (simple explanation of why dmz is not a good idea for PC's) http://www.homenethelp.com/web/explain/ ... ng-dmz.asp (I wouldn't do for anything higher than a STB/PVR/Smart TV/Games Console, even if the device does have a software firewall because you're exposing yourself to hackers) Someone at your place of work would be the best place to start looking for advice - if you need to access a work server from home (or vice versa - access your home PC from work) then a techie at your work would know how to set it up and which ISP's it works best with, as other people at your place of work have probably had a similar need in the past.
