Apparently they are each suppose to have minimum of 5 clouts and in some places we only had one *Truncated Girder truss was not flush with roof frame and needed to be lifted *A ******* bit of wood in the master bedroom where there was nails hanging out of it and the wood had split about a quarter of the way down And the biggest issue was..... The whole top half of the family room wall slanted to the right - see picture attached If you look at the bottom of the wall the gap between the walls is much smaller than the top part where it slants to the right...... I did try and do arrows but they turned out a little small Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Samantha Building the Leabrook by Statesman at Freeling My Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15237 We are now in our house!! Re: Our First Home - We've been framed!! **Frame Pics 13/05** 46May 14, 2009 9:57 pm What a lovely frame you have there Samantha, must be awesome to be able to walk through and see all the rooms come to life....bugger about the family room bit, l can see what you mean. It's fantastic though that you have a carpenter at hand who can pick up this kind of stuff. Looking forward to seeing some more pics Re: Our First Home - We've been framed!! **Frame Pics 13/05** 47May 14, 2009 10:09 pm Looking fantastic. Good to have a profesional eye in the family to spot all of those things. Good luck with the rest of the build. Re: Our First Home - We've been framed!! **Frame Pics 13/05** 48May 19, 2009 10:52 pm Just a quick update. We now have had all of the windows installed and also the gutters are now on. Hot/cold water pipes are due to go in this week and brickies due to start at the end of the week. I'm guessing the roof tilers will also be there this week but at last visit we had no roof tiles I will post some more pictures this weekend. The tiles are now up and they have bricked the whole back wall. I think majority of the bricks will be finished by the weekend as long as the weather holds out. It looks like a tornando swept through our house with the amount of mess we have from the tiles, bricks etc. But at least I don't have to clean it. Have you got a 'feel' for the layout? do you like it? Re: Our First Home - **Tiles and Brick Pics 08/06** 56Jul 20, 2009 12:25 am I haven't posted in ages so I have lots of pictures to share. The plasterers have now finished all the flushing and the cornices have been put up. Judging by the house next door (which is a little in front of us) the external doors and the fly screens are the next to be done and then the kitchen shouldn't be too far off. Netadelle - It's amazing being able to walk through it at the moment. I could literally spend hours there just looking and thinking about what I want to have where and colours that I want to paint walls etc. I'm excited to reach the full lock up stage but in another way sad as we'll be locked out. I'm hoping a door gets ocasionally left open so we can still get in. Re: Our First Home - **Lot's of new pictures 19/07** 57Jul 21, 2009 11:07 pm Wow sammy....we are basically at the same stage...though you've got cornices ...and your floors are much cleaner than mine!... grrrr at my messy plasterers I haven't had a chance to have a proper walkthrough yet as the plasterers are everywhere doing there thing....Am hoping l can do it tomorrow and get a good feel for the place. Are you happy with feel, size and look of yours? The french doors are going to look lovely...the fascade has come up real nice too! ....when do you think they'll start the front render? Re: Our First Home - **Lot's of new pictures 19/07** 58Jul 22, 2009 6:28 pm Trust me Thorney our floors did not look like this about 2 weeks ago. There was so much mud and rubbish everywhere so I'm glad they've finally cleaned it up. We're definetly happy with the feel and size of our house. As for the look..... I love the bricks around the sides and the back of the house but I am really hanging out to see the render done and painted as thats covering the entire front of the house. Not sure when the render will start... the house down the road has had their render done(not yet painted I don't think) shortly after the plaster was finished from what I could tell. I guess it's probably one of those things that will depend on the weather. I'm also looking forward to when the panel lift door goes on as they will complete the look. It's a cedar look door..... I've even chosen our letterbox design that my mums partner is going to build for me... it will tie in with the panel door. I can't wait for the french doors... I'm so glad I changed the windows in the rumpus to the doors as it will let in so much more light and allow us to use the rumpus more for entertaining. DH has just bought an arcade machine to go in the rumpus which he's over the moon about. Ah ok, that's good to hear actually....l've got blobs of wet putty stuff everywhere...l mean everywhere!!...am hoping that the plasterers will be finished doing the join work tomorrow and it'll be cleaned up by the arvo. Great to hear that your happy with it....it's going to look soo much better when the render is done...seems like it may not be that far away! The cedar door sounds like a great match with the fascade and the matching letterbox is a nice touch I can't wait for the french doors... Ooh an arcade machine! sounds cool, l'd love to have a pinball machine myself...as if that's going to ever happen!
