Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Home Building Blogs 21May 06, 2007 10:25 pm Thanks Casa. Writing a blog actually becomes kind of addictive after a while (yeah, I know - get a life....)
I was hoping that it would show the joys of building a home with a highly regarded builder. There's another thread which discusses the particular issue I'm having at the moment. I'll update that thread (and the blog) when I have an answer. Regards Perry Re: Home Building Blogs 22May 08, 2007 11:47 pm Alright I have been sucked into the vortex that is a blog....here we go

Re: Home Building Blogs 28May 20, 2007 4:24 pm Not even close, building about 11ks inland, just happens to be the soil. Just happy it's not clay A new blog 29May 23, 2007 9:50 am http://ausdreamhome.blogspot.com/ - Porter Davis Entertainer 39
(still in the very early stages though) - Site start in Oct/Nov 07. Re: Home Building Blogs 31May 23, 2007 11:52 am satskape - nice blog - at the moment we are going with a very similar design to yours.
I think Porter Davis = Eden Brae in NSW I love how roomy that house feels (went through the display in Sydney) Re: Home Building Blogs 32May 23, 2007 3:35 pm Thanks Perry. Appreciate it. This is my first go at blogs...
Thanks for the info about Eden Brae..I will do a bit of research about them as well..keep me posted or IM be about your designs and variations.. Re: Home Building Blogs 33May 23, 2007 4:21 pm I've updated my blog to include the original plans and what we are changing.
http://stonecuttersridge.blogspot.com/ The guy who started Wisdom Homes used to be the designer for Eden Brae in NSW - so he designed the Entertainer 39. I didn't like the odd shape of the media room in the Entertainer - and the dining room was too far away from the ktichen for us. Re: Home Building Blogs 34May 24, 2007 4:33 pm Nice blog stonecutter. I will keep an eye on it.. keep posting
I agree with you on Dining room but we are going to hav a pool table there so that's ok.. And media room..yeah..I too felt like that..any suggestions for improvements? Re: Home Building Blogs 35May 25, 2007 4:17 pm Mine http://parkershouse.blogspot.com/
Yet to be determined plan - in Riverina area. Re: Home Building Blogs 36May 25, 2007 4:26 pm satskape I agree with you on Dining room but we are going to hav a pool table there so that's ok.. And media room..yeah..I too felt like that..any suggestions for improvements? Lucky there's the double doors at the front if you're putting in a pool table Funny story about pool tables - my dad put one in our house when he built it. Problem was - it was 3/4 size, slate base - and he realised it couldn't get down the stairs and in the door to the pool room (ground floor - entry on 1st floor). His solution was to lay the slab, crane the pool table in - then build the walls around and lay the driveway slab over the top (part formed the ceiling). Then they just moved it around when they did the carpet! Safe to say, when they sold the house - the pool table stayed with it. As for the media room - in the display Entertainer 39 I walked through the other day - they had the home theatre set up along the small internal wall (adjacent to the dining room) - and then seats in an L-shaped lounge. Made it a bit awkward - but better than the drawing layout. The spiral staircase is what makes that room angular I think - what if they just put in a plain straight one? Might give you some more room. Re: Home Building Blogs 37May 27, 2007 2:04 am Can anyone please inform me how to make it so i can align piccies accross the page rather than down?? Re: Home Building Blogs 38May 29, 2007 7:04 pm I am building with AllCastle, the design is mainly based on Palace Regent but we changed a lot.
Please add my blog to the list: http://building-our-first-house.blogspot.com/ Just started, hope everyone find it helpful. Before we started with AllCastle, we approached Clarendon, Domaine, Eden Brae, Bellmarch and a few others. Cheers Allan Re: Home Building Blogs 40May 31, 2007 12:30 pm Another one to add to the list. Very much still a work in progress. I hope to update and improve it as we go along.
