Moved in - 23/9 WE HAVE A DRIVEWAY - PICS!! 943Oct 23, 2009 10:14 am Hels I just had an air con installer here to quote and it's going to cost us around $2000 to have our 2 Fujitsu split system units installed I'll get a couple more quotes so hopefully we may find somewhere cheaper. The 2 units only cost us $3000 to buy Howd you go with quotes for air con install ? We bought 2 x split system units in August (before the cash back offers finished ) And started getting quotes for install. Quotes ranged from $900 through to $1500 and that WASNT including the electrical component as we got builder sparky to put in the 20amp circuit thingo for us. In the end we got a local guy to do a cashie for $1000 for both units. He's been out already and put all the cables in the walls etc.. he will come back after its been painted to hook it all up and put the units in. One of the units isnt back to back so it cost a bit more for that. Make sure you shop around.. the pricing was so all over the place with many of the quotes! Lovely looking house ! I think our driveway colour is supposed to end up similar to yours - 10% white, 90% black "salt&pepper" mix. Im getting very excited now.. having seen yours ! Looks awesome Re: Our PD Illoura. Finally a fence!! 944Oct 23, 2009 8:47 pm Hi hels, Fence is looking great In regards to our shed, it took a while for the slab to be poured due to poor weather and the manual recommends waiting 28 days to drill into it. DH has been putting pieces of the shed together without drilling into the concrete and we hope to do more this weekend. We are having a shed building day in a couple of weeks with a few family members and putting on a barbie Are you finding your house is staying tidy, I lost that battle almost the day we moved in Re: Our PD Illoura. We are having a shed building day in a couple of weeks with a few family members and putting on a barbie Are you finding your house is staying tidy, I lost that battle almost the day we moved in I tidy up after the kids a couple of times a day, they are pretty good at keeping their toys in the playroom though. I find that my island bench is always covered in cr@p such as dirty dishes, junk mail, mobile phones, the mail etc etc. And my floors are always looking dirty!! The baby has just started crawling and he dribbles everywhere he goes. So there is always smeared dribble all over the floors every day I can't wait until he starts walking! and when we have done the outdoor enclosure, we will eat most of our meals out there to keep the mess out of the house But it's all worth it because I love the house and the neighbourhood Cozmo - I could pretty much walk around naked now too JADED - We have found a sparky who will install the 2 air cons and do other electrical work for $2000 cash. This was the best quote by far and he's coming on sunday. Our units are not back-to-back either and he's also putting them up on wall brackets. I'll take some more pics when it's all done. Especially like the alfresco fan! Thanks S&P . We only did the kitchen downlights as we went with standard lighting everywhere else and we have put oysters and pendants throughout. But the kitchen had a definite dark spot. lisanne It looks really good Hels! Can I ask how much the outdoor fan was? Thanks Lisa the fan was $235 from Beacon (we didn't need a light for it). The normal price is $269 but we got a discount because all our lighting came from there. I heard that they are having a fan sale soon though so it might be worth waiting if you can? Then we can think about garden edging and fake grass for out there Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Elecrical work - New photos 26/10 959Oct 30, 2009 5:05 am Hi Hels, Your home is looking wonderful! I can't believe how much you have done! Have you looked much into synthetic turf? Mum and Dad had it installed at their unit last year and it looks fantastic, BUT.....in full sun for most of the day, it gets really hot. Just be warned if the kids are going to be playing on it. I couldn't stand on it in bare feet, and it actually burnt the plants around the edge of the garden beds from the heat. If there are big shade providing trees around, though, you shouldn't have a problem! Have a read through this thread of the whole install at Mum and Dads with lots of pics: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10632 Thanks Stormy, I have actually read your fake grass thread before The fake grass is only going out the front in a small area which will just be for show. I'm getting some brick planters built and will have gardens all around the edges so the grass is just for the middle bit. I am quite anal about having the front of the house looking nice and presentable at all times so I figured the fake grass would always look nice and just like the lawn has been mowed lol. It will ne a no-go zone for the kids anyway. Out in the backyard we are going to turf or seed and have a nice proper lawn as that is where the kids will play Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new.
