Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 11, 2009 7:59 pm Hi,
was wondering if someone could let me know if my plans are in council now, will that mean the house will be subject to the new requirement for 80% floor area energy effiency??? just not sure what the cut off date was? whether it had to be in council by the first of march? or, out of council by the first of march to still keep the 40% rating Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! In any case, The council should give you some leniency as they will consider that your house design / plans were substantially underway by the time the new guidelines became effective. Our plans just went in this week and my certifier has actually given us the choice of whether we would like to be assessed under the old 3.5 star system or go for 5 star. Yeah I am talking bout that Im actually asking the question for my sister she is also building. She is building with Coral Homes. Coral said it should be fine and would be the 40% but..... I went into a lighting store today (as im at electrical stage and picking my lights ) it was just that they asked me what date my plans came out of council. They said that if they were approved after 1 march that it would be the 80%. Maybe they just said that though so i bought more lights or something I hoped the councils would be a little forgiving with that sort of thing but you never know Thats lucky that they let you choose which one to go for. Did you go for the 3.5?? out of interest Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! From 1 March 2009 minimum energy rating for new residential buildings is 5 stars up from 3.5 stars. Energy rating has NOTHING to do with Councils, it's state legislation and Building Code of Australia requirements. go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110524 A person needs to be licensed to offer financial advice.
