Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Intro - Building Providence 24. 21Mar 28, 2009 12:09 pm No Worries Jordann, I hope the pain isn't too much when you see the final figure Well I got a call we weren't expecting on Thursday from the builder. (which was weird because they hadn't asked for money, and I hadn't asked for anything either ) The developer from Rouse Hill had contacted them, and we pretty much have to change the front facade to include some 'other materials' So I contacted the developer (who I must say has been quite helpful and open about anything we've had to deal with) and basically because we are part of a 'community' we have to do this (it could also delay getting the final sign off from the council, as this requirement was part of the covenants) I could understand where he had overlooked this, and we're not overly fussed we have to change it, its more that we are so far along and budgets need to be changed...So, we threw the idea around of getting part render, and will probably go with that option. We'll hopefully finalize colours during the week, hopefully its not too much hassle to do 2 colours like they have on the Providence display house. In other news, I had talked to the SS yesterday morning who confirmed the report from the inspector had been actioned (i could see this was true for the internal issues) and he said the insulation was going on, and the gypbrock was being delivered. So, we arrived onsite around 5ish and we see the bricks had been cleaned too!!! Unfortunately my camera is with a mate shooting a wedding, so I haven't got any photos but it looks magic! Then we went past this morning to grab some samples of the roof / bricks to help us pick render colour, and there is an army of people putting up the gypbrock! Will go back later and check it out. I might take a photo on my phone as well... Cheers -rob Re: Intro - Building Providence 24. -=AT LOCKUP=- Woohoo 23Apr 03, 2009 5:09 pm Well, I haven't taken any photos (or photos I can access at the moment) but Gypbrocking was done last Saturday and finished up on Monday. I got a call from the SS on Tuesday who pretty much said he was going to lock me out on Friday. Sure enough, I went out this afternoon and i'm locked out He also mentioned the waterproofer will be out next week and tiling as well... I will have to drop by at some point to drop off the feature tiles we purchased so the tilers have them ready, will also try to get my camera back on Sunday and update the blog. Take care -rob Re: Intro - Building Providence 24. 24Apr 03, 2009 5:32 pm very nice. Yes photos are essential. C&G -------------------------------- A new building chapter begins.. Re: Intro - Building Providence 24. 28Apr 05, 2009 9:26 pm Hi Bathroom and Ensuite will be done in white tiles, with a light brown floor (i don't have the exact colour, i know we wanted chocolate or something like that but they didn't have anything like we wanted in the size we wanted) We picked up some bisazza tiles on clearance for features in the bathroom / ensuite. Bathroom / Ensuite vanities will be done in ice snow caesarstone, with oyster linea cupboards Kitchen will be done in ice snow caeserstone for the bench tops, mushroom linea for the cupboards, brushed aluminium kick boards, and toffee apple metallic splashback. The walls will be done in a slightly off white colour through the house. We didn't really worry too much about the paint colours inside. The main floor tile will be Green Smooth, which was one of the standard range tiles. Its doesn't really look green at all thou! -rob Re: Intro - Building Providence 24. 29Apr 07, 2009 10:20 pm Hi All, Painfully uploaded some photos on the blog (i hate low cap plans for internet. Re: Intro - Building Providence 24 -Kitchen Installed- 34Apr 08, 2009 7:57 pm Hi All, Kitchen guy was out today. Eva managed to get there before lock up and took some photos with the phone. Phones don't take too good photos in the afternoon sun, so I've put up the best one.. Will get some better photos tomorrow I hope http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3324/3422971491_0ddf78fa66.jpg -rob Re: Intro - Building Providence 24. 35Apr 08, 2009 8:37 pm Hi Rob, Your place is looking great, and such a fast progress. The kitchen looks fantastic, you've gone with the full pantry/cupboards so you'll have the nice bench area tucked away for the toaster and stuff like that, so jealous! Can't wait to see your kitchen cupbards as we've also gone for the oyster linea so it will be great to see them made up. Keep the pics coming!
