Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 41Mar 15, 2009 11:08 am Hi Thorney, I did see you too are using Ripponlea but not until after I had submitted the message. We must have great taste.
We did some research with roof colours and found the colorbond site to be helpful with creating a house with all the colour schemes. I really liked the look of the monument then, although loft and woodland grey were a close second. I love the contrast of the brick with the dark roof. Our gutters are monument, windows are merino, and facia and downpipes are paperbark along with the garage door. Will be adding our colour shcemes on our post shortly. Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 42Mar 15, 2009 12:04 pm Mundie,
lol, yup, l just love the ripponlea...especially with cream mortar....l'm hoping that my house will turn out like this: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t271/diamondzoe/IMGA0219.jpg Your colours sound great What colour will your mortar be? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, so l went out to the spec home and took some pics of it...dunno why l didn't do it earlier Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then the clouds come over, quite amazing the difference it makes: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Loft on showhouse 43Mar 15, 2009 2:28 pm The lakeview showhome by DA has a loft coloured roof. The front is rendered and there are pale cream bricks to the back.
http://www.dalealcock.com.au/new-home-designs/display-homes/display-homes/lakeview/ We wanted a light roof to help keep the house cool and were looking at pale grey colours until we found out this showhouse roof colour was loft -we thought it was a light grey colour! We like the way the colour seems to change in different lights without looking too aubergine. Its also fun to see peoples reactions when you tell them the roof will be purple Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 44Mar 15, 2009 9:08 pm Welcome to the forum hibiscus
Thanks for the link Lol! l can see why you thought the house was a light grey....the main pic certainly looks like it.....yep, that's Loft for ya, quite deceptive... The more l see Loft in pics, the less l see the chocolate in it .....all l can see is various shades of purple, lol....So did you end up going with Loft? It sounds like it, with the "fun telling people the roof is purple" comment. I'm gonna say the same now So what stage are you at with building? Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 45Mar 16, 2009 1:20 pm Hi thorney,
Have looked around for any loft roofs with no luck so far. Could not believe the colour different between sun and shade on the pictures you took. Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 46Mar 16, 2009 7:13 pm Here you go for all you Loft lovers Taken from the J* K*ng displays at Laurimar today. Quite a nice colour, throws a bit of eggplanty/auberginey/purply colour, nice.

Could not believe the colour different between sun and shade on the pictures you took. Aww thanks Mundie...very sweet of you to have a look around for me (and others who may be interested in the Loft) Ya, the difference in sun vs shade is quite remarkable.....l like it Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 48Mar 16, 2009 8:19 pm HTB! your an absolute legend! thank you thank you thank you!
I'm liking the look of the house.....what a bonus that it is mostly brick and that they are kinda, sort of, well maybe just a tiny bit, lol..similar to mine. It looks like the fascia is paperbark and the windows merino yeah? I love the second pic the most as the fascia/window colours come up looking more creamy, which is what l'm going for....Makes trying to visualise what mine may look like much easier.....and l think (and pray, lol) it'll work out well in the end Thanks so much again, and if l read your post in the Mernda thread correctly, l can't wait to see more pics Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 49Mar 16, 2009 8:23 pm thorney Thanks so much again, and if l read your post in the Mernda thread correctly, l can't wait to see more pics You should have them in your inbox now No probs re the photos. We loved looking through the displays and now my kids want to build another house If you need anymore of windows etc let me know. The guy in the sales office didn't seem to know any of the colours Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 50Mar 16, 2009 8:37 pm House-To-Be thorney Thanks so much again, and if l read your post in the Mernda thread correctly, l can't wait to see more pics You should have them in your inbox now No probs re the photos. The guy in the sales office didn't seem to know any of the colours Yup got the pics...they are truly magnificant and wonderful l'll be purring over them for days Oh no, you've taken so many already and far exceeded what l was expecting.... really? how could he not have a clue about what colours are in the house that he umm, is trying to sell??? unbelievable ....whilst l'm no expert on colours, and the different angles and lighting can be decieving, l'm pretty sure that it's paperbark/merino......can someone else here offer their expert opinion as to what the colours are? Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 51Mar 16, 2009 8:46 pm thorney really? how could he not have a clue about what colours are in the house that he umm, is trying to sell??? unbelievable ....whilst l'm no expert on colours, and the different angles and lighting can be decieving, l'm pretty sure that it's paperbark/merino......can someone else here offer their expert opinion as to what the colours are? That is quite normal for the sales consultant to not know about the colours. As they have nothing to do with the colours and styles of the house. They specialise in working out a floor plan with you and modifying it to your requirements. However it would be nice if they supplied their sales consultants with a list of all the colours used on the displays! Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 52Mar 16, 2009 8:52 pm Yes agree with WBA, some PD displays have the full list of colour in and out and some don't. I think ALL displays should just print them up and stick them to a window, would make all of our lives so much easier
I agree with you Thorney, windows/render/cladding look to be paperbark/merino colours. Re: Loft - Colorbond Roof ....Help Needed! 54Mar 16, 2009 9:19 pm This is one thing M3tricon get right. The sales consultants have access to colour schedules for their houses at their display, but also can access the colour schedule for any M3tricon display.
I found that super helpful. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Yeah..it's weird l know!!....whenever we have to drive to Melb, DH and l swap over the driving anywhere between Avenel & Seymour .....heck, I can't stand the drive out to Lavington even......and that's with the new bypass! Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10232 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18582 |
