In fact we where there this evening checking all the lights that our electritian put in this week. Has definately come in handy, just for basic things like checking measurements on cupboards spaces, height of windows and even our curtain colour choices! Built a modified "Daydream 279" .. Cor@l Homes on a flat 4473m block!! And lov'n it!!! Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 13Mar 07, 2009 8:52 pm brittany Our house (past lockup) has never been completely locked except once. The builder says it is too hard because of different trades attending. We are building in existing suburbia though and unlikely to get robbed except by tradies (who stole our home theatre cables). He did tell me though he's putting better locks on this week before they start finishing off. He's worried about appliances going missing. How hard is it for the tradies to lock a door on their way out though?....bet if it was their homes they'd certainly wouldn't leave it unlocked. Sorry to hear about your HT cables....but if your home is left unlocked how do you know the that tradies took them? I hope your appliances remain safe after they go in...it's good that your builder is improving the locks. Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 14Mar 07, 2009 8:53 pm oztish No. Our builder do not provide a key. A good thing I've noticed about our new house is how secure it is from a break in. Believe me, we've tried....you just can't break into my house! LMAO!!! Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 15Mar 07, 2009 8:53 pm thorney It's good that your SS and tradies would help you get access.....l'm sure you found that having access to your home invaluable yeah? yep, sure did! How else would I be able to keep all my pic-addicted H1 buddies satisfied with updates??? Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 16Mar 07, 2009 9:00 pm House-To-Be Gee you guys are so lucky to get given a key. We weren't even supposed to be onsite unless it was with the SS for a meeting. We did however keep the pantry window unlocked and one of the kids used to climb in and then open the sliding door. Also found that my medicare card came in handy on the few occasions that the pantry window had been locked Where there is a will there usually is a way I didn't think that the plastic card thing actually works, like l see it on tv....hmm obviously it can Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 17Mar 07, 2009 9:01 pm donuts thorney It's good that your SS and tradies would help you get access.....l'm sure you found that having access to your home invaluable yeah? yep, sure did! Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 18Mar 08, 2009 9:43 am no we didnot get keys until handover the tradies were good that would let us have a look some of them anyway. One was not nice at all we had a stray dog go into the house so we when to have a look so we could call council he was very nasty he even got rid of the dog we were going to keep it there and ring the council.we were not even allow to be on site without ss even though we lived there in a caravan while it was begin build. finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 19Mar 08, 2009 11:20 am yep thorney, they have it noted in the "build process" section of the website, i think it will come in handy as raw was able to install his own laundry sink/cabinets and seakyl was able to install her own soundproofing batts etc... coral doesn't seem to have a problem with having other tradies onsite to install air con etc 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Does your builder provide you with a key at Lock-Up? 20Mar 08, 2009 1:33 pm coral doesn't seem to have a problem with having other tradies onsite to install air con etc[/quote]
Yes this is true, but you still need to fill out a form they give you in regards to extra tradies going onsite before they allow this. I think mainly for insurance purposes, i suppose. Built a modified "Daydream 279" .. Cor@l Homes on a flat 4473m block!! And lov'n it!!! Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 4573 1 4699 Sorry but you have a crap builder. Probably too late now. For our last build I only spoke to builders who would allow me easy access (at no cost). I used my own sparky… 10 9840 |
