Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 06, 2009 3:17 pm Just wondering, has anyone built with Dennis Family and been able to bargain for better inclusions or upgrades? We are getting the "pay 5K and get 24K worth of stuff" promotion but since our house is only 20 squares we added up all the stuff you get and really we are paying 5K and getting 17K worth of stuff - I thought maybe we could use this as a bargaining chip (i.e. their current promotion only benefits those who are building 30 squares or more). I know we are still getting more for less but it would be good to be able to bargain for something!!! Re: bargaining for better inclusions 3Mar 06, 2009 8:36 pm In my experience, if you find a good salesman they can usually pull a few strings. But bargaining something like $5000 worth of upgrades seems to be asking a bit much. Especially at the moment when new home sales are booming (due to the FHOG).
However, you'll never know if you don't ask so try your luck and see! Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, and professionals built the Titanic." Thanks. There are plenty of builders around my suburb. I'll make sure to do some door-to-door knocking, or note their building details on the temp fence. 4 4737 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7558 |
