I'm going to ring the builder tomorrow to clarify what exactly happens, i.e. when do we get the last payment invoice and then find out from the bank when they will issue their payment etc, I'd be pleased if others could share what they know about how it actually works ? Re: Building with Statesman? Would you be my pacing partner? 244Nov 17, 2009 8:34 am Great work vid!!! Fingers crossed you have the keys in time for the tiling! Can't really help with the invoicing as we are in the same boat as you, anyone else?? craigandamy we might actually be only a week or so behind you, went last night to have a look (was in the area as you do ) and to my suprise all the painting was done (front render, eaves, front door), and that had installed the shower, toilet, mirrors and bathroom accessories like towel racks, toilet roll holders, etc) Building the 'Glenunga' with Statesman Homes Released to Construction: 10/07/2009 Frame/Guttering Done: 21/08/2009 Bricking Finished: 11/09/2009 Painting and second fix plumbing completed 16/11/2009 ... Would you be my pacing partner? 245Nov 18, 2009 10:07 pm I have now worked out how to post photos - I have them on my blog, which made it easier to get them here. Everything has been moving really fast, only 6 weeks ago - we still had our old house standing. Now, a new one is emerging and so quickly. Our neighbour said that he saw a building supervisor go over the house today, taking notes. He spent a long time there going over every room thoroughly. It makes us feel good that they are monitoring what is going on. Here is the house going down on the 12th of October. We are wondering what will happen tommorow. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I do have a question re: the SS. We too, got the usual letter stating that they take over after the frames have been completed, and I gather it was him there today doing an inspection, but there was no phone number on the letter for him. Do we still have to ring client liaison and ask for the SS?? Anyone know?? There email format seems to be pretty consistent throughout the company. FirstnameSurnameInitial@hickinbotham.com.au ie. Fred Bloggs would be fredb@hickinbotham.com.au I've emailed our SS a few times. I know he gets the messages as what I email him about is magically fixed the next day. Re: Building with Statesman? You should get the invoice a week or two before final inspection. You then send the invoice to the bank who will issue you a bank cheque. On the day of handover you take the cheque and hand that over in exchange for your keys. Thanks Sammy, We actually received the final invoice yesterday and I have spoken to the bank and the insurance company, I have also "in vain" been trying to contact our SS who is the one who is supposed tp tell us if the PCI is in fact next Thursday and as usual he doesn't answer his phone so we are just tresuming it will be a week away!! Re: Building with Statesman? I hope all goes well. They started on our bricks on Friday, no gutters or roof yet though. I guess that will happen soon enough. I can't believe how quick everything is happening...we are waiting for the slump which I am sure will happen. It is a fantastic experience though...why didn't we do this years ago?? Hi craigandamy, We have our PCI on Thursday, how long did yours take? Do they give you a special form to fill out? Does the SS point out things that he thinks are not quite right or does he leave it up to you? I'm getting a bit anxious about ours, I've noticed a couple of marks on the ceiling where nails/screws aren't quite painted/filled properly is this the sort of thing that gets fixed? Sorry for asking all the questions. Good luck with getting you keys! I wanted to buy a bottle of Dom Perignon or Cristal to have on our first night in the house but at $300+ it doesn't really fit into our house budget! Re: Building with Statesman? Would you be my pacing partner? 255Nov 25, 2009 8:03 am vid I think we took about 45 minutes to do out PCI. We had a check list for each room but we also had a list of jobs that we knew about from going past when tradies were working. Our SS had a reasonable idea of issues but there some that he wasn't. There is a form that they fill out with the issues that you note as you walk around the house. You get a copy of this form and it will state a date for installation and supplier. For us our garage doors haven't been installed until after handover and the AC is the same. We also made sure that the gas line was put on the list also. After we go in I am going to walk through the house with the list that we signed of on and make sure it was all done as agreed. Good luck with it. This is the one time that you can get back at your SS over their inability to finish the product. Would you be my pacing partner? 256Nov 25, 2009 11:15 pm Hey CraiganAmy - so how many days total from release to construction to handover? Our bricks have almost finished! Our SS says we will have the electrician on site Monday and gyprockers start Wednesday. He told me that he would rather us not be on site at all, but they don't put up fences and if I want to come in Tuesday and put up some extra insulation, that is up to me I might get my Dad to help me Monday and Tuesday after school. Re: Building with Statesman? Would you be my pacing partner? 257Dec 03, 2009 8:14 am Sounds like you didn't have many issues with your PCI craigandamy! That is great And yours seems to be coming along at a good pace netadelle, when are you hoping to be in?? Well ours is about done, we now have all of our carpets, our sinks, and kitchen accessories and our roller doors were put on! Is looking very good Was advised that our PCI will be early to mid-next week and keys shortly after, just praying now that there are no issues with the bank finalising the payments, etc...
