He then took until he was 30 before he built on it. Now at 38 we have 4 investment properties and are building our new home. We got to live in it for 18 months before we had to move due to my husband getting a promotion. We rented it out for four years before moving back into it just over two years ago. When we left it was the perfect house for us (we had one child who was 12 months old). Four years down the track it was no longer "perfect" (extra child and all the stuff that goes with kids!) so we renovated - it's still not perfect but we are staying put because it's quite possible hubby will get another promotion which will mean moving again. Re: How old were you when... 84May 06, 2009 8:22 pm This is our first house. I will be old when it is finished, and hubby will be old too.
I say congratulations to all of you starting so young. At 23 I would have fallen off my bar stool at the thought of buying a house! My priorities were... different. Now though I'm all grown up! buzz Re: How old were you when... 85May 07, 2009 12:11 am We bought our 1st house when we were both 21 and then sold it & bought our next house at 25. Re: How old were you when... 94May 12, 2009 3:00 pm Alot of people have bought homes when they are pretty young so far! My dad is building me a duplex but I haveto pay a bit so its not just given to me, dont know if that counts lol. Im 21. My parent are 45 and their first home was when they were 26, they have bought over 50 properties and at the moment they own 10 units, my block/house that the duplex is being built on, big farm and another 2 houses and ofcourse the one they live in. Not many posts or threads here about duplexes, I might start one soon, I have a few questions to ask about sizes also. DA approved Waiting on a few more Builder's quotes.
