Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 202Oct 26, 2009 7:27 pm our slab cost an extra 6-7K and we had a provisional cost of 6K for rock. They found nothing... nada. We reinvested the 6K in new benchtops and some other upgrades- mid build! Nice one M3tr1con. Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 203Oct 26, 2009 7:31 pm Hi.. my site cost is 11 k with H class slab after 2nd soil test otherwise it was HD. my Rock allowance is 6 k which is set on variable and that's the max they can charge me if they find a rock which i am pretty sure wont be more then 1-2 k Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 204Oct 27, 2009 9:42 am Site costs of 10K ( H grade Raft Slab - flat as a tack) . Should be slightly lower if it is a waffle pod. Edit: For a 21sq house Provision of a whopping 9K for rock ....!!!! have finished the slab and those have come in around 2K so more money in the bank now .... Hope this helps. Cheers Avish Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 205Oct 29, 2009 8:42 pm Hey Guys Anybody know a good building inspector ? I am thinking about getting one to double check the builder's work but have no idea about a good one. I went around getting some quotes but dont know whether they are any good. Cheers Avish Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 206Nov 04, 2009 2:30 pm We're about to start looking as well... sounds like Kevin is the man. Plenty of info on these forums about him... costs are between $495 and $550 a visit. We had our own frame inspection this week- we found 31 issues that need rectifying, the "independent" surveyor found just 2. Looks like Big M have a firm grasp on the joolies of the independent" surveyor. Next two weeks will be interesting. Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 208Nov 05, 2009 9:21 am things like... significant overhang on some edges roof trusses 450 short of the eaves poor corner fills window frames needs replacing plumbing rough in errors short noggins studs greater than 600 apart missing strongbacks pretty poor workmanship throughout really- I reckon I could walk through there and pull out 250 nails that have either missed their target or haven't been removed after the bracing has been removed. The rail on my ensuite, literally, just swings in the breeze. There's not even supposed to be a rail installed! Lets see how they respond. Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 209Nov 15, 2009 9:58 pm Any luck with ADSL2 connectivity at Newbury Village ? Was having a look at the Telstra Wholesale website. This is what the ADSL enabled DA's excel sheet shows - CRBN DA087 GREVILLEA ST CRBN DA087 KENNET WAY CRBN DA087 TOTTENHAM ST CRBN DA087 WATERVIEW BLV And this is what the ADSL2 capacity excel sheet shows: CRBN DA087 342 << Spare ADSL2 ports 342 spare ports ?? Can't believe there are so many ports in the first place so just wanted to check if anybody had already got ADSL2 connectivity. Cheers Avish Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 210Feb 16, 2010 4:39 pm Anybody started/finished fencing works in Highlands ? Construction of the house is about to finish and I am planning to get them installed before I move in. Useful if people who have finished this can recommend someone. Cheers Avish Hi Avish Last week i moved into my home in Newbury Blvd and i got connected with telstra Adsl2 + Only telstra will give Adsl 2+ in the new area where they laid the lines. I did call TPG and other service providers and they can only give Adsl, 'cause they are not allowed for some years in the new area that the area belongs to telstra. TPG first said there is not enough copper line for Adsl 2+, and after a long argument they accepted they are not allowed to give me Adsl2+ 'cause telstra wont allow them. So i go with telstra Adsl2+ and the speed is not imaginable ....download 20mbps and upload 0.82mbps. Only the prob is quite expensive and i took a phone and broadband 12 Gb package around $90. Avish i think this will help. Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 214Feb 19, 2010 2:33 pm I was talking to my colleague about this and they said there is no way that telstra could do that talk to ACCC so when i am about to move i will talk to tpg to provide me internet . hey dev i guess we are neighbors and i think i live across you Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 215Feb 19, 2010 4:36 pm kamranshakil I was talking to my colleague about this and they said there is no way that telstra could do that talk to ACCC so when i am about to move i will talk to tpg to provide me internet . hey dev i guess we are neighbors and i think i live across you Hi Kamran Yes i am , we met once... TPG saying that in the area telstra did a line sharing service so TPG cannot give Adsl 2+ and dont have the technology. TPG can give me adsl with a speed of 1.5mb/s 25 gb and it cost $49 and no telephone( land line I dont think $90 is too expencive compared the speed telstra is giving , and it includes telephone line as well with all local calls free and telstra mobile free and other mobiles cost 20cents. Before i am not the customer of telstra and i was with internode. Now what i found is if i visit some sites like google and yahoo there is no usage count but some sites like herald sun, apple telstra counts usage. and its 2 year contract. thanks Re: Highlands Estate Craigieburn 216Mar 03, 2010 3:02 pm hmm.....it seems that I cant even build a fence or driveway till I get the handover... Now I thought since this was external to the house shouldn't be an issue but obviously it is... has anybody faced this issue and is this common ? Now I thought since this was external to the house shouldn't be an issue but obviously it is... has anybody faced this issue and is this common ? How funny... I just came into this topic to ask a similar question and saw that this was the most recent post which is yet to be answered. My question though - the developer's rules state that you can't move in until you have fencing, a driveway and a letterbox. Given that (as pointed out above) you can't do most of these things until after handover from the builder - it's going to extend the time between getting the keys and actually moving into the house. Does anyone know how strict the developer is in enforcing this??? What have other Highlanders done to get this sorted out as quickly as possible after they get the keys?? Does anyone have any fencing/driveway contractor recommendations (via PM if you prefer)?? P. A certificate of occupancy should be obtained by your builder and provided to you. Stockland has no control over this - I moved in over a month ago without any of these items.
