Had final inspection of the house today & handover in ~2 weeks time :z:

Can anyone suggest what broadband/internet is available & good in Aschroft neighbourhood of williams landing? I have a got telstra underground Trench installed during the build.

Which land release are you in?

Thanks for the response. I just confirmed with NBN that it is not available in my neighourhood. Only option is to go with Telstra ADSL at this stage (Home Line + Broadband deal)

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd post here. I live in the estate and am a qualified electrician. I work full time in the commercial construction industry, however things are a little slow running up to xmas and early next year. As such looking to pick up some jobs doing split system air conditioners over the summer. I have teamed up with a guy a know who is a Refrigeration mechanic in the supermarket industry to install them. We both have over 15 years experience in the industry.

Looking to pick up jobs in the estate and surrounding suburbs mostly, however initially we will go anywhere in Melbourne.

For basic installs we are currently charging $750.
This includes installation of the units
All pipework
a slab or wall bracket to mount the unit
Separate electrical cirucuit and circuit breaker.
duct covering and draining of the unit.

Our basic install price is for installations "back to Back" meaning the inside unit matches up with the outside unit. Single story homes. Double story homes may come under this price also however a site inspection would be required to ensure that.

If you have existing electrical wiring, which was designed for an air conditioner we could do the install at a cheaper price.

I can also supply the systems. Which I am happy to pass on at cost wholesale price, However all unit must be prepaid. Due to the cost and installed by us of course.

I have done work for many people who live in the estate, and am happy to stand by any job I do. We will provide you with both electrical and pluming certificates and are fully insured for all our work. Happy to do free quotes for anyone interested and can give free electrical advise for those who live in the estate. As i'm working full time most install will be done on Saturday and Sundays. However getting closer to xmas I am willing to do them 7 days a week. .Can you accept credit card for the unit cost? Ive been wanting a unit in our master bedroom so im guessing the smaller unit would be suffice.. however the outside wall plumbing needs to be diverted around the water unit.. We had a quote on the job last year.

Excited moving to my new house tomorrow

I have been told by AGL that it would take 4 weeks to get the gas connected. Is that normal in our neighbourhood?

Any recommendation of a concreter in williams landing to initially build a driveway but may be later the side & backyards depending on how it goes. The driveway would be around 33 sqm. Thinking of plain concrete with single pattern on the 2 sides. Any suggestions on driveway whether plain with some patterns is better or any other. What are the prices some of us are paying per sqm? ::wornout::

Myself and others have recommended Joe from Taylors Lakes Concreting on here before. He did an excellent job with ours.

Also, if you are in the Ashcroft Neighbourhood, patterned or stencilled concrete is not permitted under the design guidelines... just thought I would point out to you in case you weren't aware. Im not sure about the Kingwell neighbourhood.

Kingwell is the same, if not more restrictive than Ashcroft.

Do not put patterened or stencilled else Cedarwoods will make you pull it up.

I have got a 5 months old son. Any recommendation for Child care in Williams Landing and/or surrounding neighbourhood as unfortunately I will have to put him in childcare when we go to work? I got feedback from a friend that 'Future Kids Child Care' is smelly.

I think from memory your options are exposed aggregate concrete or plain coloured concrete.

I am not a fan of the coloured concrete though, as it fades and wears really quickly, from looking at others peoples places.

Childcare: YMCA South Truganina (Arndell estate), or the Westbourne Children Centre are the closest to WL. But they may have a wait list. I believe they're good childcare. My son has been on their wait list for months now but your child might be luckier since he/she is younger.

We are with Bigpond, and have ADSL2+. But I did hear that Telstra hasn't had any port available in WL for ADSL2+

Thanks 'europa'. The waiting list is almost 2 years for child care which is not funny. Hope there will be new good child care centres opened soon in our area.

Has been told by telstra that i cannot apply for ADSL for the next 31 days & it is not sure even after that. Don't know what my next options are for internet. I don't have NBN in my area for atleast the next 3 years.
