Browse Forums Building A New House Re: williams landing 1289Feb 11, 2011 8:53 am badcliq There has been no actions there since late Nov or Dec. Things don't look too good. I just hope at least they can provide more bus services to all the surrounding estates at least to Hoppers Crossing or Laverton station. Perhaps we all need to start lobbying for it now. I heard from a source two steps removed from the Minister that the project will be going ahead, but that construction will be delayed because it is already over budget (as a project) and the funds aren't available due to black holes in the Government coffers generally across the board. Construction timetable being to start in late 2011 / early 2012, and take about 1.5 to 2 years to complete (ie. mid to late 2013). You may remember that this was the original timeframe before the press release and glossy newsletter about 3 months before the election when it was announced that the construction timetable was brought forward. I think most people agree that the work done to date was essentially a ploy. A friend in the building industry said that at same time as 'the construction had started', the tender to build the thing was still open to the public for submissions. Once submissions close, it can take months before a builder is decided, even longer for contracts to be drawn etc. So there really was no chance it was genuinely started in late 2010. It twigged for me when the train station was supposedly being built, but the WL commercial area was still weeds and grass. The thought of having a train station in the middle of a paddock was kind of amusing. I can't verify any of this, it's just what I've been told by others. Cheers, Joao Pessoa How do you know? are you working in this project? @alan1237 I heard at a bbq (a month ago), he told me that his company has stooped all work (plans) for the train station and they are waiting for a "go ahead/green light" from the state gov to re-engage the project. That's pretty sad and I'm really disappointed...I've waited for this for AGES!!! Re: williams landing 1293Feb 11, 2011 2:59 pm Hi all We have moved in but have a gap of 3.2m between the house and our side fence. We want to get a gate and some fencing done to bridge the gap. I've rung around a few places and don't seem to be getting very favourable quotes. Who have other people used and can you get me their number and a rough estimate of what you were charged? Thanks everyone Our build blog -- http://fromdirttopuppies-cottesloe.blogspot.com Re: williams landing 1295Feb 11, 2011 8:46 pm There is talk of the Regional Rail link being shelfed and replaced with an expansion (extra line) on the Werribee line. Also diverting to a Station at Avalon Airport. WL is delayed but still looking good. Re: williams landing 1296Feb 15, 2011 8:31 am alan1237 Wartooth, Any news yet?
