Does anyone currently walk to the new station? Do you follow the paths around the Masters site, or do you go 'cross country?'
Cannot see them changing it, too hard basket.

Re: williams landing 2142Jun 05, 2013 10:34 pm Rear gate for the RAAF base via Williams Landing. RAAF personnel can come of the highway at Palmers and turn right down to the gates eliminating the need to contribute to traffic over the Aircraft level crossing. Aircraft will then be closed. I've done the cross country track on the left of Palmers (next to Masters) a few times, not too bad, a little muddy in areas. But I've only done that if it has been dry for a few days. Other (wet) days I go round Masters. Very annoying that they didn't do a foot path there! But it looks like the road on the right side is progressing. Might be a little shorter. I ended up going round Masters... felt like it took ages! I too am surprised there is no path there. Yeah I reckon the road on the other side will be much shorter, as it comes out opposite the stairs to the station. Re: williams landing 2145Jun 07, 2013 10:05 am I have seen people walking that way already since they sealed the road and cleared away the demountables last week/this week. No footpath but as long as the streets are blocked to traffic it is a hard surface to walk on... Very agree with you! I found there is a community website for Williams Landing: http://www.wl3027.com You can vote in the polls and participate in forums as well. I will need to start on landscaping of the side & back yard of my new house in williams landing. Any recommendations on landscaper? I am thinking of below: => Have slate or something like that through most of the backyard & the 2 sides of the house => Vege garden on part of one side of the house => Flowers on part of other side of the house => Artificial grass on part of the backyard => Cloth liner to hang on one side of the backyard => Rest of the house to be low maintenance with probably slate of anything similar. Any recommendations? Thanks !!! Overton Rd linked to Forsyth Rd early 2014 and Ashcroft Ave completed by June 2014 -Kingwell st 7 complete, st 8 and 9 under construction and st 10 begins this month, which will see the completion of the Kingwell neighbourhood -Elmstead will be the next neighbourhood, situated west of the Ashcroft neighbourhood. -Masters to open late 2013 Sadly there was no mention of the Shopping Centre, however I have heard construction to commence late 2013... can anyone confirm? My understanding is this design is being changed as the developer recieved approval for an enlarged centre. The look and feel is likely to remain similar however. Hopefully the Tavern remains! Williams Landing Re: williams landing 2154Jul 27, 2013 10:26 pm Wouldn't surprise me the sales here have been through the roof ever since the train station opened. They sold 42 blocks in May alone. Re: williams landing 2155Jul 27, 2013 10:37 pm 42 blocks damm that's a lot. Do you what banks are valuing the blacks for now? My land came in 30k under 3 months ago on land loan only. I'm hoping with all this activity/price rise I can mitigate some of the short fall with the land and construction loan in sept. fingers crossed prices keep rising Re: williams landing 2156Jul 27, 2013 10:43 pm Not sure but one of the double story homes in the old display village sold for $880k last month. Granted it was a nice house but the block itself was not huge by any stretch. We had issues with our valuation when building but we put in an extra $120k above the base price of the house and our block is a little unusual in that it is 800m2 so we were hard to value. In the end we got what we wanted though No idea on what they are valuing right now but there is a lot of activity in the area, the issue is those that build to live here, build nice homes but do not sell them as it would be unusual to build a house to live in only to move 2 years later. The homes that are for sale generally are rental stock and to be honest are nothing special due to that status - every now and then a home comes up for sale that was built to be lived in and they are a much higher standard generally. Re: williams landing 2157Jul 27, 2013 11:02 pm Yea I know it's hard to get a good valuation because no body has sold much yet and banks are forced to use Wyndham water sales. This area is not really the same quality. Will have to waits see huh. 800 sqm wow that's big block. What's that like 2 blocks together side by side. Didn't think developer sold those sizes these days. Does anyone know when Woolworths and big w will be opening? Re: williams landing 2158Jul 28, 2013 8:20 am We had our house and land valued back in June with the bank coming back with valuation $35K under. On enquiry we found that they didn't take into account anything related to the new train station, freeway access, house upgrades etc. We took the highest spec option for our house but the added inclusions had no impact on the valuation. Upon speaking to our bank they said that the valuers were unlikely to increase their valuation. We emailed our bank a huge list of things they should at least factor into the valuation. Great news is they increased the valuation another $15K. Also to mention we did seek help from a Broker with 3 other banks but they were unable to match the revised valuation of our current bank. Re: williams landing 2159Jul 30, 2013 3:21 pm Hi all, I am a local resident at WL (Cedar Woods) and have been for almost 3 years. For the last three years, I have played sports with clubs from Tarneit and Point Cook etc. Always had the dream of creating something for us all in WL. This year we are starting the Williams Landing Sports Club. A bit of intro to the club: At Williams Landing Sports Club (WLSC), we cater for the sports & recreational needs of the ever growing Wyndham and Williams Landing community & provide a way to collaborate by overcoming the cultural backgrounds through sports. We are a Not For Profit Community Sports Club, starting off season 2013-2014 with CRICKET. We are incorporated with Cricket Victoria and associated with Williamstown and Districts Cricket Association. Our membership is open to all! We aim to add more sports to its repertoire – plan for year 2014 includes Basketball. We also aim to work with local charitable/social work organisations by assisting in event management & providing volunteers. To launch the club, we are organising a BBQ at Ashcroft Park where all proceeds of the day will go towards The Salvation Army. It is a worthy cause and I would like to invite you all to come join us in contributing to the cause as well as get to know more about the club. Cricket Lovers are encouraged to come and JOIN Details: 18th of August 2013. 12 PM onwards @ Ashcroft Park BBQ Area (Closest from Cnr of Caldwell Road and Australis Drive) If you have any queries, please respond to the thread. Much appreciated Sam Re: williams landing 2160Aug 01, 2013 10:34 am Link to the event on the WL3027 Site: http://www.wl3027.com/event/2013-08-18- ... munity-bbq 2 2979 I am looking to design an entry door to a lower ground basement that has 2200mm between the external entry height to FFL of the ground floor.
