[23/04] 84Apr 23, 2009 4:55 pm Thanks guys - i'll post pics of the driveway once the color fades to the actual one (right now it looks black!) Am very happy with how it turned out though - got it done by Mark (same guy who did H2B and kek's driveway), so am glad i looked for recommendation on the forum. [23/04] 85Apr 23, 2009 5:14 pm I think you did the right thing by getting them to redo it. when I read your first post about where the render was supposed to go I thought it would look odd but it definitely works and is so much nicer than the first render job. It looks great Re: Wrong part of Facade rendered... update! [23/04] 86Apr 23, 2009 5:32 pm Well done ! Glad they did what they should have done, and what you liked in the first place! Happy at Home Re: Wrong part of Facade rendered... update! [23/04] 96Apr 24, 2009 2:41 pm I'm glad it's all been sorted out - the facade looks fantastic. I really love that one, almost as much as ours. It was only the corner window that made us choose the Kingsford instead. Tough decision. Hey, you can always have stack stone added to the pillars later if you want to.... Re: Wrong part of Facade rendered... update! [23/04] 97Apr 24, 2009 3:32 pm Thanks kek And yes thats what we had always planned - that we will get stack stone on the pillars sometime down the road. It just didn't seem worthwhile to spend so much on it right now. Built PD Beaumont 35 - One year down in the new house.. still so much to do.. Re: Wrong part of Facade rendered... update! [23/04] 98Jul 22, 2009 9:24 pm Hey MKR, I am in the same dillema as you, my question is does the wall still look perfect after the second build? Even better did you notice any problems with them building the wall again? Cheers Re: Wrong part of Facade rendered... update! [23/04] 100Jul 23, 2009 9:10 am mjl Hey MKR, I am in the same dillema as you, my question is does the wall still look perfect after the second build? Even better did you notice any problems with them building the wall again? Cheers mjl - the wall looks great.. initially we thought the mortar color was different... but we were told to to give it few days to dry off to the same color as the rest of the mortar... which it eventually did... the only problem we noticed after a few weeks was that we had yellow stains on the bricks (the redone part only).. i searched a bit online and found out it was most probably because the bricks weren't washed properly the second time around.. i have raised this in our 3 month inspection and expecting it to be fixed soon... The spacing of the studs looks pretty large especially for a load bearing wall. 3 11116 Thanks mate, is there a standard off the shelf type breathable product I can apply DIY? Thanks 2 8214 |
