Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 29, 2009 11:03 pm Lets start a compilation of the houses we wish we could build. Some of us might be building or living in our 'dream' houses, others might not mind it. Mind you, we love our brand new house... But.. we are allowed to spare a few thoughts about our future 'dream' houses, right? The houses our hitlist at the moment; - Burbank Stonehurst 36 - http://www.burbank.com.au/HouseDetails. ... irtualTour - A more realistic dream.. This house just has simple wow factor!! Really like the facade (click on facades, the display has the Tamara facade) and the positioning of stairs and main living areas. - M Lindrum 58 - A very super dream.. one day.. But yeah, the photos speak for themselves really. Just stunning!! - Carlisle Montrose 35 - http://www.carlislehomes.com.au/affinit ... trose.html - This one is in the same family as our Atlantique 36. The layout is awesome and its just simply, a really good design. If this design was available when we built.. we would have considered this, without a doubt. Im not really a fan of the PD Bondi... but does anyone know why the Bondi gallery shows several kitchen pics, with the kitchen looking totally different? In one photo, there are no overheads and no stone waterfalls. In another photo there are... I must say though, Im not really a fan of PD homes anymore.. no offence PD'ers!! But I think some floorplans have rooms which are not proportional and balanced in comparison to other rooms. Their decorating style also has room for improvement.. WAY too cluttered for my liking.. So my top picks, other than our Atlantique, are the Burbank Stonehurst, M Lindrum and Carlisle Montrose. So please share... tell us which houses you wish you could build!! Re: The houses you wish you could build 3Nov 30, 2009 9:46 am Love my new house but my dream home has huge verandahs around it which mine doesn't. The original design we were going with for our block had one but we weren't able to go with that builder unfortunately. We'll patio down one side when we can afford it. ( next couple of years, if not sooner and eventually probably put a patio on the other side of the house as well. I wish we could have added a verandah across the front but it wasn't to be. I already love sitting out under the very small porch area at the front now some of our retaining walls have been built so having a slightly bigger, roofed area out there would have been fantastic. I'd paint it green and white. Frangipani trees in the garden. It's called the buzz30 not on display in a suburb near you Re: The houses you wish you could build 5Nov 30, 2009 12:44 pm the home i wish i could build: - %100 self sustainable solar or wind powered - costs nothing to run - 10 star energy efficient - 2 story home, but one story to be built under ground. Re: The houses you wish you could build 6Nov 30, 2009 12:49 pm Hmmm... sounds familiar jcjuice... Pretty much what is on the drawing board.. But only half underground Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: The houses you wish you could build 7Nov 30, 2009 9:51 pm Thanks for your replies everyone!! Keep 'em coming!! Re: The houses you wish you could build 11Nov 30, 2009 10:25 pm Hels My dream home would be one with no mortgage attached to it Doesnt that mean you could have ANY house? Zerosignal The KM201 and KM202 by KubeHomes (Henley) http://www.kubehomes.com.au/ I love the facade and floorplan of it, but I do not love the cost Thanks for the link.. I remember seeing Kube in the paper. Whats with Henley making all these brands? Verve, Clendonvale, Esprit.. now Kube? And I didn't like the house either.... The M one was OK....except for the parents' bedroom being upstairs. The Carlisle one didn't press any buttons - and I hate the laundry placement. Can't say I've been impressed by the new mega-big PD Prestige homes either - not one of them does it for me. Maybe I'm just picky. I dont think youre being picky kek... I dont really like the new PD houses either.. the display homes are fitted with so many upgrades, it becomes unaffordable and makes your PD house look like cr@p. Im not really a fan of their cluttered decorating either. Re: The houses you wish you could build 16Dec 01, 2009 6:24 pm kek The Carlisle one didn't press any buttons - and I hate the laundry placement. The Carlisle design probably didnt press any buttons.. because as you can see the display home isnt flooded and overfilled with 'luxury' upgrades like PD and M houses. Mind you, the Carlisle one would probably be more affordable and valuable. But I guess thats what we all tend to look at when visiting display homes. Sometimes we get overwhelmed and carried away.. we take more note of the furnishings, the landscaping, the pools, the decorating etc.. and less attention to the actual house floorplan. Salt and Pepper, I know you love Carlisle, but your constant rubbishing of PD and M3tr1con IN EVERY SINGLE THREAD is becoming very tedious and borderline offensive. I'm sure you can manage to champion Carlisle without rubbishing other builders... and implying people that build with them are idiots that got carried away. This is a very familiar road...... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. The layout is awesome and its just simply, a really good design. If this design was available when we built.. we would have considered this, without a doubt. There are far too many rooms crammed into this house. 35 squares is way too small for that many rooms. The bedrooms are tiny. The home theatre likewise. I would be in and out of that display in under a minute. They would do better to have less rooms that are spacious. Ive been in the display.. it actually doesnt feel that crammed and squishy.. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
