If you choose to accept handover and move in with all defects as listed, I hope you have loads of detailed photos to refer to, the last thing you want is the builder to turn around and say that some of the dents etc happened as you moved in One thing I will say for being an OB - we are there all the time and because we employ our tradies directly and get to know them well, they ensure that our place is well looked after and treat it with a great deal of respect...some accidents do happen - its inevitable, however so far our place is pretty much dent free!! Fingers crossed it stays that way !! Ruth -Bought house in Melbourne inner burbs, knocked it down & now...we are owner builders! Re: ALTANTIQUE MK2 - 28Mar 01, 2009 10:12 pm Homey - I really considered the 36 too.. but probably a little big.. plus we found out is was 50cm too long for the block so that pretty much settled the 32 for us.
Matt - sorry I haven't really gotten onto any blogs apart from Dale & Jo's! I'm too busy to search blogs all day unfortunately. I will have a look at it sometime soon to see what problems I can come up against! By the way, I see you have built in Rowville? Just wondering if any of you know if $3900 for 47 sq metres of exposed aggregate driveway is too cheap or too expensive or reasonable? By 'too cheap' I mean that this concrete needs to be done perfectly and correctly, if its too cheap might turn out ugly. BTW, this is not a licensed concretor.. From what i remember, i think people were saying that it should be around $50-$55 per square metre for exposed ag? I could be wrong tho. Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Carlisle Homes - Atlantique Mk2 40Apr 11, 2009 9:34 pm Hi S&P, That sounds like a good price. From what I can tell it usually costs between $90-95 per sqm (yours is about $82). Where did you build? We are having all sorts of troubles even getting concreters to even return phone calls let alone go to our block to quote. If you can PM me their details (assuming they work in the North) it would much appreciated. Thanks www.thebedbug.com.au Children's Licenced and Treehouse Manchester for all of those new rooms!
