I have to say your house finishing is better then mine, just the stairs, they didn't left the post stick out as below. And they said they did it on purpose so it will make the stair stronger Now i will use your website to proof they are full of sh*t Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sh*tmonds new slogan of "We in it together" is so perfect fit, because you be "In the sh*t together" once you signed with them. So sorry to hear about all your dramas with your build. Saw your pictures on the other post, and I have to say that I definitely wouldn't be happy with that kind of workmanship. I'm having my pre-hand over inspection next week (Friday) with Kevin. When I told my SS that I was getting Kevin to do my inspection, he was OK by it (he actually told me that Kevin is a top bloke and that I got the right guy to do my inspection). Anyways, hope you and Simonds can resolve all the problems you are experiencing. All the best. Re: Has anyone built with Simonds? 25Feb 27, 2009 8:55 am Hi Fuzzy, congrate with your pre-handover inspection.. i am excited for you... hope it will go well and no hassle...
I am not sure if mine can happen on the 10th March, my SS told me that its on the 10th March but since yesterday meeting and reviewing the outstanding issues, he can’t be sure now.. I hope i will hear some good news either from him or my new CSR Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Has anyone built with Simonds? 26Feb 27, 2009 9:19 am Thanks claego. But like you, I am also worried that the remaining work won't be finished before the 6th (pre hand-over inspection). Nothing major, but lots of little things like the render needs to be painted, lots of holes in the walls (plaster - thanks to the electricians), painter needs to come back and finish off some walls, touch ups, stain the staircase and front entry doors, etc.....
Hope you and I will get good news from our SS and CSR. Re: Has anyone built with Simonds? 27Feb 27, 2009 9:35 am fuzzy Thanks claego. Ours was like that, seemed like ALOT had to be done in a small amount of time, but it did get done and the PCI happened as expected! so there is hope Re: Has anyone built with Simonds? 29Feb 27, 2009 9:55 am fuzzy Hi klo338, When I told my SS that I was getting Kevin to do my inspection, he was OK by it (he actually told me that Kevin is a top bloke and that I got the right guy to do my inspection). Anyways, hope you and Simonds can resolve all the problems you are experiencing. All the best. I know someone had warned Sh*tmonds stop bad mouthing inspectors, so I guess they pick up their act. When I told Sh*tmonds I’ll be using independent inspector, they try to talk me out of it like 4 times. Lucky I didn't give in. I think all this is really comes down to the supervisor and the contractors he picked. I too, want to have all my problems resolve, after all I didn't pay money to have a "battle", I just want my house for the money I pay for, nothing more and certainly nothing less.
