Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 25, 2009 8:37 am Hi Guys! .. Just wanting to have an idea for an average 450-500m block, what would be the fencing costs (the permanent fencing you do after you move in?) .. i'm sure there are MANY kinds of fencing you can do but i'm just looking for a ball park figure to do an average fence job, and the type of material, height etc used ..
Any guidance is appreciated! Cheers! --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! Re: Fencing around the perimeter of your house? 2Feb 25, 2009 8:52 am Whats the dimensions and where do you want the fencing? IE is it just the 3 neighbouring sides? then to the front sides of the house? or do you want a front fence? gate over the driveway?
Im not a fencer, but they seem like all very important questions to see what you will need. Colourbond fencing is $55-65 PM IIRC. Re: Fencing around the perimeter of your house? 3Feb 25, 2009 8:53 am Hi there,
I don't think I will be much help for you but this is what we are doing. Colorbond, post and rails, not installed for an 1100sqrm block, which is about 130mtrs of fencing, will cost us about $6k, then we have to install it ourselves. Hope this helps a little bit. Re: Fencing around the perimeter of your house? 4Feb 25, 2009 9:13 am Well the dimensions are about 31m on each side (in depth) and about 14.5m at the back .. it will wrap around to about 5m in the front on the lounge side (the other side is the garage..) .. so we're looking at 31+31+14.5+5 = 81.5m of fencing ..
Do you normally share fencing with your neighbors? Check local regulations, most councils say that you can put an accepted fence on the boarder and share the costs with the other owner (even if its a developer or such) Re: Fencing around the perimeter of your house? 6Feb 25, 2009 9:38 am Depending on the type of fencing you want - for colourbond I'm going to be paying about $60-$66 per metre for a 1.8m high fence.
