Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Is this expensive for render? 24Feb 28, 2009 5:02 pm My quote for rendering the entire house (in Perth) came to $3k. If I were to do just the front of the house, it was half the cost.
Hmm, I might have to investigate if it is cheaper for anyone but the builder to do this. I'm sure it will be, but i have had so many problems and I haven't even started building I think I might just leave it as is. But if anyone out there knows of a contact in Perth that renders for less let me know. Cheers Re: Is this expensive for render? 25Mar 03, 2009 8:46 pm Hey Guys.....
You may find that the price of render varies between builders, this is because there is render and then there is render. If anyone is condidering getting render done, ensure it is a two step process. This means the render is applied first completly covering the substrate and then the colour is applied of the top of the render. This is a more expensive process, rather than a one step process where the colour in mixed with the render and applied in one go...... There is an advantage of the two step process people don't think about. That is if something happens and part of the wall needs to be patched after a few years..... it's as simple as getting the paint brush out and giving it a lick of paint. The one coat system requires the whole wall to be re rendered. Unitex are great for the two coat system process. Good Luck. ![]() If would render rather than having face brickwork Re: Is this expensive for render? 26Mar 04, 2009 9:43 am ![]() Hey Guys..... We live in a world where people charge what ever they can think they can get away with.
