Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 23, 2009 11:48 am I hope someone out there can help me. We are building with Access PD and i am believe our Hopetoun color selection will be before our Tiles selection.
We have been to hopetoun twice, but it has been far too difficult to get to National Tiles due to their opening hours and the fact they are so far away. We just want some simple grey tiles for the floors, bathroom and kitchen. Maybe lighter grey in the bathrooms and a darker grey in the main living areas. Ie: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v82/girmadness/greytiles.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v82/girmadness/greytiles2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v82/girmadness/greytiles4.jpg Does anyone know what kind of choice they offer in the standard tile selection for access customers? Obviuosly if i can't get the color tiles i want, it may change our whole color scheme.. So I need to know whats available before our color selections. If we can find some time to get down to National Tiles, do they show you what available in the standard range and can you just go in and view them? Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 2Feb 23, 2009 11:54 am The back wall at the National Tiles showroom at Port Melbourne shows the standard tiles. Everything else is an upgrade. Sorry, but I can't remember much about the standard tiles - I had an image firmly fixed in my mind of what I wanted and went straight for that tile. An upgrade obviously! I think from what others have said on here that you should be able to go and check them out before your appointment. Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 3Feb 23, 2009 11:56 am We built with Prestige, so I'm not familiar with Access options, but just wondering if there's a National Tiles near you that you can go and have a look through?
I did that a lot at the one that's not far from me, and it was helpful just as a starting point, seeing what tiles they actually sell, and what I liked , before seeing what was available to PD customers. There are National Tile Centres closer, but i need to know whats standard because we are on a budget. We know what we want, grey tiles. Surely it can't be that hard, can it? I just wish they were able to provide you with a booklet of standard, so you don't have to travel so far before your appointment. Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 6Feb 23, 2009 12:06 pm I know....it's such a pain, isn't it???
The other thing I found really frustrating was that neither NT,nor Hopetoun could tell us the actual cost of the upgrade , either - I found that totally enfuriating!!! That may have changed, and may be different with Access, too...?? Good luck finding your perfect tile! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 7Feb 23, 2009 12:10 pm National Tiles gave us the cost of our upgrade on the day. We picked the tiles then went and had a coffee down the road for half an hour and went back for the quote. Not so at Hopetoun unfortunately, the girl had a vague idea but she was out on some items. Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 8Feb 23, 2009 12:13 pm Wanna You could try calling them and asking what tiles are standard (there aren't that many) then go to a closer showroom and ask to see those tiles Good idea, I might give this a try. I'll just ask them for any grey colored tile colors and there names. Thanks. =) Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 9Feb 23, 2009 12:47 pm Wanna The back wall at the National Tiles showroom at Port Melbourne shows the standard tiles. Same so I'm not much help sorry although mine's not an upgrade. The National Tiles display centre is only 3 or 4 streets from the Hopetoun display. If they were open on a Sunday or until 5 Saturday it would be allright. Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 11Feb 23, 2009 12:56 pm Problem solved, spoke to one of the consultants and she's emailing the list of standard tiles available. I'll post the list up here once it gets through for anyone else that may be wanting to know. These are the 'standard' tiles.
"The range is always changing, so tile availability with be confirmed at the time of your appointment. Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 15Feb 24, 2009 7:24 am We chose one of the standard floor tiles, used it on shower walls too. Ours is a dark brown-grey, but I know there were other lighter greys to choose from.
Our original tile was coded MAXFL1000, but that was discontinued...the one they replaced it with (Kimberley Smoke, don't know the code) was so close to identical I can barely see the difference when they're side by side. This is ours: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We spent $500 on upgraded feature tiles, all the main tiles were from the standard range. Re: National Tiles - Those building with PD 16Feb 25, 2009 2:03 pm Very nice kek! We'll be getting the same kind of detailed tiling, but only in one ensuite. The pebble look is lovely.
We'll definately be going with more of a grey look, because everything else in the house will be grey, without the brown. But thanks for showing me! I took tommorrow off work and am going down to check out whats available, hopefully i can post some pics when i get back. =) Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August.
