Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 22, 2009 5:49 pm Hi everyone
I was talking to my builder about upgrading the pc's and he said if I want mixers in the bathrooms it will cost me about $400 per bathroom in plumbing changes alone (before the cost of the new mixer)....have you guys heard about this? I checked on the Sydney Water website but can't find anything related to it. He said it was something to do with having to isolate the water line on the mixers..... thanks Flaksy Re: Mixers - Sydney Water require change that cost $400 per room 2Feb 22, 2009 6:56 pm We're building in the Sutherlans shire. The standard for Eden Brae were taps, not mixers.
We upgraded to mixers being charged for the mixers only. No other charges. Could your builder be pulling a swifty ?8) Cheeky bugger. I'd ring the water board in any case, just ot have a concrete arguement when you talk to your builder. ..............unless requirements have changed in the last 8 months Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Mixers - Sydney Water require change that cost $400 per room 3Feb 23, 2009 7:58 am We found with our McDonald Jones home in Newcastle that each set of mixers had to have a set of isolation conventional taps in an area that is easily assessable... mine and I notice the builders display home is in the same area... in the WIR and linen cupboards... apparently mixers can fail and this is the emergency turn off... sounds like $400 well spent... better than flooding. Aparently though not all Water Authorities need them.. I think I would rather be safe than sorry Life is an enjoyment, enjoy it Re: Mixers - Sydney Water require change that cost $400 per room 5Feb 26, 2009 6:52 pm Got further info. That charge is basically for putting stop cocks in the ceiling piping....only applicable to bath and shower mixers, not basins as they are easily added to vanity spaces. 1) I had requested R6 ceiling insualtion batts, however I noticed that on some areas there are huge gaps which will allow hot air to sweep in, and also noticed black/grey… 0 3503 Thanks for clarifying. Sorry I misunderstood your point 7 6965 Been in a similar position and we decided to let the builder go. Some of the PSA money goes to engineering so we at least got those documents and they actually refunded us… 2 6082 |
