Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 20, 2009 11:05 pm Hi all
Long time reader, first time poster I'm in the early stages of building a new home in Brisbane and have decided to organise the rendering myself as the builder charges a ridiculous price to do it. I've had a quote come back at $30m2 for a smooth finish render. It comes with a 15 year manufacturer guarantee. Is this a fairly good price or should I keep searching? Thanks Re: Rendering - how much? 2Feb 21, 2009 8:02 am sandy Hi all Long time reader, first time poster I'm in the early stages of building a new home in Brisbane and have decided to organise the rendering myself as the builder charges a ridiculous price to do it. Im also doing the same thing. As we selected a facade with the builder they wanted to charge us 24000 to render our house. which i felt was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive. So we were considering either doing it ourselves or getting someone in to do it. Does anybody know what we should expect by way of pricing for a 30sq house?? Re: Rendering - how much? 4Feb 21, 2009 10:05 am You'd usually expect to pay between $32 - $38 per m2 for square set.
So $30 is a good price. Probably someone who's feeling the pinch atm. To keep costs down when doing a whole house you can get sides and rear of the house bagged or rapid rendered. Both cheaper than square set render but it all depends on how much of the house you can see from the road. Re: Rendering - how much? 6Feb 21, 2009 11:35 am We just had half the front of our house rendered for $270. The plasterer/renderer said it worked out better for us to go by his hourly rate plus materials - worked out well for us. Our builder was going to charge us a few thousand!
cheers Michelle Building in remote, regional Vic We have roof, frame, walls, plumbing, electrical....but no bricks! Re: Rendering - how much? 7Feb 21, 2009 11:02 pm coral have quoted me just under $5700.00 to do a full sponge finish render on a 19 square house, i thought this was quite reasonable as i had allowed $8000.00, is a sponge finish render ok? 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Rendering - how much? 8Nov 17, 2013 7:33 pm We recently had our low set 4 bedroom brick 1980s brick home rendered by Brisbane Rendering. I think they also trade under Completely Plaster. We had 12 quotes done (normally only get 3 but noticed such massive varations in pricing). Ashton Close is the business owner of Brisbane Rendering and it was refreshing to have not only someone who knew his stuff but turned up on time and had the quote back that day. Brisbane Rendering's price was extremely competitive and was able to not only do the rendering but also quoted us for painting. All up it was less than $6000!!!! Less than some of the prices we got just for render!!!! They cleaned up, left a great job and more importantly for us - they were able to do the job in the time frame we required. The only very minor negative thing I could say was the fact the delivery driver dropped the pallet of render at the front of our garage WHILE WE HAD OUR CAR PARKED IN THE GARAGE!! Certainly wasnt Brisbane Renderer fault and they were very apologetic and even sent an apprentice there that day to move it. Real estate agent said the render increased sale price by 50k! Great investment!!! Re: Rendering - how much? 10Nov 18, 2013 11:23 am Its definitely a worth while investment especially if you have old ugly brick work... we have just recently bought a timber weather board house so only have some retaining walls down the track that we will have Brisbane Rendering do the rendering on.
