Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 863Aug 31, 2010 7:26 pm I hope our build doesn't go that bad! Are you a first home buyer? I have heard a few people complaining who are not first home buyers, as the companies push the first home buyers in front to comply with the first home owner grant conditions. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 865Sep 02, 2010 4:00 pm Yer I have heard a few people who had troubles because the first home buyers get pushed in front so they comply with grant conditions, we are first home buyers so hopefully won't see so many delays, good luck with your finishing Built with Scott Park Homes in Stage 10 Aubin Gardens Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 866Sep 29, 2010 5:07 pm Congratulations on your slab Jess and Mark. I remember how excited I was when they finally put it down. Looks like SPH is pretty quick. Every week they keep busy so far and I'm praying they will stay this way I'm building the City Beach with them - however after all the changes I made it doesn't look much like City Beach anymore. contract 10/11 prestart 04/10 slab 06/10 bricks 07/10 roof 09/10 plaster 10/10 Ceiling 10/10 LOCKUP 10/10 tiling wet areas 11/10 garage floor 11/10 PCI 12.01.11 handover 11.02.11 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=39361&hilit=malvern+springs We are in !!! Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 867Oct 11, 2010 7:33 pm I am after a little advice,
we are building tih SP, and have been having a little trouble.... My wife and I spent money on the ensuite, upgrading to a 1810 bath, paper trail leading back to before pre start and re confirmed at pre start. Plans from drafting can out with the 1810 bath and all looked good. Long story short SP rang a few weeks ago and stated they used the wrong measurements for the bath and the room is 1810 wide and the bath wont fit. They wont un to settle for a smaller bath, but are wondering what compenstation, if any we are entitled to. SP say they will just credit us the difference in the cost of the bath's. We feel that this is not right, it was not our mistake and we have a contact for the 1810 ba. The least SP could do is come to the party and show some customer service and offer a suitable compensation package. Am I asking to much, or do I just have to suffer what they decide to give me? Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 868Oct 11, 2010 7:45 pm We are building with Scott Park Homes and experience lots of delays due to the administration team and there lack of response to shire etc requests. Lets hope the building will go faster but by the sounds of the forum I will not be holding my breath. Watch this space. 27 June 10 Contract signed 2 July 10 Pre start meeting 13 July 10 Finance settled 18th Aug 10 Building Licence issued 29 Sept 10 Amended building licence issued finally after harrassing SPH as they would not respond to council requests and contacting shire myself as we had to change colourbond to tiles. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 869Oct 11, 2010 7:49 pm Hi Leroy I would request that they come to the party with what you feel is satisfactory compensation or ask them to rectify and build as per the plans with the 1810 bath. It will mean they have to rebuild the bathroom but better that than you later on ****** in the bath that is to short saying bloody builder stuffed up the bathroom size. Depends on what you are willing to be satisfied with. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 870Oct 11, 2010 7:55 pm oakwood, Those are my thoughts to, but they are trying to do a little bluff at the moment. Wife and I and not impressed. As for your delays...Dont get me started, we signed in late June LAST year, then they announced the end of the Fisrt Home Grant and we got pushed aside. Slab went down in May this year. So much for 6 months admin, Six months build. I have found the staff they are allocated are good to talk with, but those that make the decision, ie upper management, do not give a rats about the customer once the contract is signed. Good luck with your build. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 871Oct 12, 2010 12:44 pm Can you upload your plan so we can see what you talking about. There won't be much movement possible after the slab down but after seeing the plan we can find some way to get out and get big bath. In my case they forgot that spa needs an external wall for the pump but they rearranged everything to make it happen. At a cost of course contract 10/11 prestart 04/10 slab 06/10 bricks 07/10 roof 09/10 plaster 10/10 Ceiling 10/10 LOCKUP 10/10 tiling wet areas 11/10 garage floor 11/10 PCI 12.01.11 handover 11.02.11 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=39361&hilit=malvern+springs We are in !!! Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 872Oct 12, 2010 1:48 pm Hi Leroy My hubby suggested if the room is wide enough perhaps dont have tile ledge at each end and have bath end flush with wall tiles. This is common in the east states to have the bath lip up against wall tiles. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 873Oct 12, 2010 6:59 pm I think anyone who signed up last year and was not a first home buyer knows all about being pushed to the end of the queue. In our experience though once you finally get to site things move quite quickly. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 875Dec 20, 2010 11:00 pm Cooper32 removing tape doesn't sound like too much fun too me!!! We got a quote for a local painter to do undercoat & 2 top coats for between $3000 - $3500 for an empty house (pre floorings & blinds) using solver or dulux so i think we may go that way. Sure beats the $5000 quoted by SPH & they don't do undercoat!! Have you had/got time off to do the timber flooring & paving? Cooper32, would you mind PMing me the details of your painter please? TIA!
