On a side note, someone only a few lots down is building the same house so it has been nice to see what goes on in the building phase. The pad looked like a familiar shape so kept looking. A little over 4 hours wasnt too bad. Its been a couple of weeks since then and now we even have a tap. The Better Half and I actually had to wait while the gopher collected our lunches from the local deli before we could go home, not a lot of time spent in the Office, but a great deal getting 'all my ducks in a row' before pre-start. Now the excitement really begins for you, and before you know it, and several hundred pictures later, you will be moving into your new home. PS. Cheers 16 Hey mate, Yep things are going well out here... had a large dinner party the other night and the kitchen and dining passed with flying colours Landscaping is a bit of a non-event recently Only got our fences put in about 3 weeks ago... and oh-my what a drama that was... burst gas mains etc. All good now but. Still saving the pennies for the landscaping... we have 100m2 of pavers ready to lay but not quite at that stage yet. Soon I hope! Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 854Aug 16, 2010 8:55 pm We have just purchased a block and have NEVER built in our lives, although we are already in the market with established place. We seem to be steering towards Scott Park and Summit. The SPH design we liked initially was the Grand Sandalford but we stumbled upon the Floreat and lot of people seem to be building that. What exactly is the Floreat because it sits in another range entirely? I understand the differences between Grand, Designer and Park but don't understand the Vittoria range. Does anyone have a starting cost for the Floreat? We hate the Sandalford frontage and would be looking for a more traditional colonial style - we love the Summit Westport/Clifton Retreat. We're not sure whether to get a Grand spec but not sure we can afford to go as high as 250k on a house - would like to cap it off at 220k max excluding flooring, painting etc. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 855Aug 16, 2010 9:09 pm Hi Mazstar, We are building a Floreat, it's a great base plan to work from & add your own touches to it whether they are big or small. Not sure what the base price is for it now as we signed up.....11 months ago!!! Vittoria range is a basic range, not a lot of specs are included but you can add as many as you like or as much as your budget will allow. for the budget you suggested you would be able to spec it up very nicely. Check out SP Fremantle display home in Byford (it's a smaller version of the Floreat) to get an idea. I know SP do extra things through the construction stage above & beyond many other builders to improve the structure of the house. We weren't very confident with your other suggested builder due to other reviews on another site but do loads of research. Good luck with your journey!! You mentioned SP do extra things in construction stage - do you know what those things might be? I wonder how difficult it would be to change the frontage on the Floreat which has a nice floor plan. As I said before we prefer the more traditional style of home with verandah and actual brick facade tarted up with some modern design. I don't get the difference between their Park Range and the Vittoria range, they both look to be basic spec, I'm going to talk to one of the consultants this weekend. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 857Aug 17, 2010 4:35 pm HI Mazstar, we too are building the floreat with SPH - we choose this design as it was great value for money. We chose to upgrade the kitchen/bathrooms etc... Even got the solar panel package and it all came within your budget. Hope this helps __________________________________ Building Floreat in BALDIVIS with Scott Park Homes Block Purchased: 30 Jan 10 Prelim dox signed with Builder: 17 April 10 Conditional Bank Approval: 20 April 10 Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 858Aug 17, 2010 5:58 pm It shouldn't be too difficult to change the elevation of the house. Hey Zircon - we're also building near the hills - Swan View just near Greenmount hill. Our block wouldn't suit modern rendered style either, its about 730m2.
